Hoe wonderlik is ons Here! My stryd is tans die stryd wat Retief gehad het - ek probeer baie hard om perfek te wees sodat ander my sal aanvaar. Ek het eintlik "Die Seën" gaan opsoek om vir 'n vriendin te stuur en is gelei na hierdie 2 onderhoude van Retief oor sy pad deur depressie. Dit kon net sowel ek wees wat daar sit - alles waaroor gepraat is is bekend vr my. Dankie dat julle dit gedeel het. Ek weet nou dat Jesus wél my Verlossing is.

Thankyou brother i have a question many therapist in my area are not christian many therapists i see accept diversity lgbt and accept homosexuality Also how do i know if therapist or phsycologist is acceptance to this life style or their living in farkness how can i trust their help

@vzero_snexfur885 Thank you for your feedback and question. In general, psychologists do not force their own beliefs onto clients and always respects a client's viewpoint in an accepting manner. However, to find one that is in agreement with your personal beliefs is your right as a client. There are psychologists who are devout Christians and are willing to work from a Biblical viewpoint. I have had clients ask me before they book a consultation to clarify my position on this and other controversial subjects like hypnosis. This enables them to decide beforehand whether they would want to see me or not. If you cannot find one in your area that is expressly Christian it is an option to do an online search and rather do video calling consultations than go without any support. Otherwise, your local pastor would be a good reference to a Christian psychologist since they tend to refer their congregants on a regular basis.

@@jonathangecoxok and... every one think what they whant, some people think god controle every thing (us, the wind, life and death... everything) but not me and maybe not the guy ("asawood" something above you) but that don't mean you are right. And same for us, how can you know that god is real (no one have seen him and every one can lie about that) so every one can think what they whant about god and stuff like that, thats how it is now a day. I dont think god exist and I don't think there is after life(for me the bible is a story that we need to think is real to make us kind and helpfull for every one else in general) but is that it? Maybe not, but I dont say to every one that there is no after life...( like you you say to every one that god exist? If yes you need to know that every one belive in what they whant, like santa claus) but yea some people think that santa is real and some don't, sins no one have realy see him its easy to think he is real because he bring gifts under the chrismas three so god is technicly the same thing here we can think what we want about this who ever you are

Oh what a beautiful message. ❤❤ I needed this encouragement. I have been struggling with extreme complex post traumatic stress and sometimes the walls seem to cave in on me and it is too much to handle. There is so much I have endured in this life. But this reminds me to turn to God the battle belongs to Him. I dont need to do it alone. Amen 🙏🏼❤

I loved this brother, i appreciate you for helping OCD sufferers through spreading knowledge of the truth 🙏 For me the problem is whenever i try to let go and leave it all in his hands, i get a "confirmation" feeling that it is me having these intrusive thoughts and feelings, that i want them and that I'm giving into them. These intrusive thoughts are of blasphemous and sexual nature, nothing escapes the OCD, nothing. It's so bad it even causes a groinal responses which i find the hardest not to react to. I know deep in my heart It's not me but at that point I'm not able to tell that it's not, it might as well would be. Do i just ignore this feeling as well? And do i use the same approach against the groinal sensation ?

Thanks for the message and appreciation. This is a question with a long answer. I will give a Bible based reply, not a purely clinical one. Blasphemous and sexual intrusions are usually distressing to the believer but remain intrusions nonetheless. Groinal responses are natural to sexual thoughts and can thus be considered a part of OCD (thus not you). It is normal to struggle at first with distinguishing certain intrusions and reactions as OCD (and not feel the immense guilt and shame). However, persistance is the key. I am not sure what you mean by a "confirmation feeling", but it does sound like another intrusion, or thought causing uncertainty (and therefore untrue). You would not be struggling if you wanted it. You have probably prayed about this a hundred times and tried to commit yourself to the Lord. Therefore, your heart is really surrendered to the Lord and you have repented of any real sin. Decide therefore that you are genuine and God knows your intention, you can resist any condemning thoughts (that only lead to compulsions). Rather, respond only when the gentle Holy Spirit (as gentle as a dove) make you aware of sin. You are in fact overly aware already and fear having these thoughts, thus they occur. Since OCD is a paradoxical reaction, it is not really sin. You do not actually need awareness of sin now, but awareness of your righteousness in Christ. Intrusive sexual and blasphemous thoughts are many a times due to a lack of understanding and resting in God's grace and love. The truth is: in Christ you are imputed with His righteousness (Rom 5:17, 2 Cor 5:21). Whether you have had these thoughts or not, your righteousness is not based upon your own holiness/effort, but in Christ (1 Cor 1:30). You are thus not vulgar to the Lord even during these experiences. Resting in Christ's total forgiveness and unending grace and love will cause you to shift your focus from trying to stop these thoughts (which only makes it worse and cause self-centeredness and exaggerated sin-consciousness), to drinking in the unconditional love of God, thus God-centered. Your certainty is based upon the Word of God. Because God said you are righteous apart from works, you are! Rather remind yourself of your righteousness in Christ, during and after these experiences. Blashemy and sexual thoughts were paid for on the cross. Blessings
