I think the hulls are too heavy to plane as they are also quite narrow. This means they dig in at higher speeds as there is not enough surface area to support the weight of the boat so it never "gets out of the hole". If you want to get it home as is I recommend dismantling and shipping by truck. Then you could have a little craft to putter around inside the reef on Bantayan. Please get your wife to wear a life jacket on sea trials :)

@@lesleyashbury1693 As usual we actually brought our life jackets and left them in the car 🤐 the outer hulls side fins originally were 4 inches wider and i cut them to be more narrow to match the center hulls side fins soooo if i knew what testing has shown i would have left them wider to help get on plane easier. I can get the catamaran to plane with the 30hp at 12mph, the 8hp and the 15hp could only get to around 6 or 7mph. On the trimaran i haven't gone full speed on all engines yet and the 15hp inboard has to get some welding on the prop shaft tube for the grease zirk fitting before i can add that engine to the test. Also the 30hp was surging and running poorly during this test, i think the gas has gone bad so i will put all fresh gas in before testing again. I also ordered some Sta-Bil fuel stabilizer so hopefully i dont run into bad fuel again. Hopefully once I get enough power I may can get it on plane. If I can get it to cruise at 10mph even if not on plane that is good enough to take the 110 mile trip to bantayan in 2 days and do regular running around fishing and island hopping trips. I did not have my phone with the gps speed app on this test so next trip I will have the speed app and know what speed I am going. Still working out the bugs 😁💦🛥️

Roger you need a much larger motor for high speed that means a lot more weight , not worth it , 30 hp on a single hull with outrigger would astonish you . Also move your own body weight towards centre lets more air under hull with full power . Ken .

@@kenharris4468 yes 50hp would get the catamaran going nicely. The catamaran will have only an 8hp outboard for just nearby inshore fishing the 30hp test was just for fun to see if it would get crazy... It did not get crazy but it did get on plane 😁. The trimaran will have the 30hp plus the 15hp yamahas and an inboard 15hp sumo rato racing engine so 60hp total. In the next day or 2 i will test the trimaran with the 30hp and the 15hp ouboards to see how it runs and also how it handles in some waves (if i can find some waves) right now the ocean is pretty flat maybe 6 inch waves or if i can get to a fastcat ferry wake maybe 1 1/2 foot wake to try and cross. 😁💦

@@magnumbiker30 not much difference between the 2 engines except 5 hp and the 30hp weighs about 2 or 4 pounds more. I chose the 30 because of those 2 factors, more power and i can still lift the 30hp. It is heavy for 1 man but still able to manuever it if i have to. 😁💦

this is my opinion but i think you wouldve fared better with a 15hp yamaha. 30hp seems a bit overpowered for your very light boat. And heavy, given you dont mount it on the midline.

@@jedidazed3390 15hp only gets it to about 7mph top speed and i hoped for a cruising speed of 10mph minimum, i have only ran the 30hp at initial breakin speed however when i reved it up slightly once it started to finally lift the front. I also have an issue of splashing from the outer hulls into the center hull and from center to outer hulls sooo i am building splash guards to go between the hulls before testing the 30hp at higher than breakin speed. Stay tuned for some higher speed testing 😁💦🛥️

@@jedidazed3390 yes his boat is a transom mount and i agree is the best way to mount a single outboard engine. If i knew now that the inboard 15hp pump boat engine would not have enough power i might have made the center hull transom mount. My advantage is I have multiple engines so if one breaks down while out at sea i have another engine to limp home with 😁💦

@@JohnBabcock-qy1cs i still have the one 15 hp inboard motor in the center hull however it can't push the trimaran without overheating so in a incremental process i added a 8hp outboard and it was too slow for my target cruising minimum speed of 10 mph and hopefully a top speed of 20 mph, sooo i got a 15hp outboard and it too was faster but still would not get to 10 mph, soooo i now have a 30 hp outboard and it is noticeably more powerful however i was testing it in 1 foot waves and there was so much splashing from the outer hulls into the center hull and from the center hull into the outer hulls so i was not able to test the top speed soooo i am now making splash guards to go between the hulls under the trampolines to block the splashing. I also got hydrofoils for the outboards as they tend to dig the rear of the boat down in the water and the hydrofoils are supposed to.lift the rear and lower the front. I will be testing those soon too. Its an evolution of testing and adjusting. I changed my mind about the inboards in the outer hulls because they would take up most of the room and no place to ride or move around in the outer hulls. I dont have the canopy on the trimaran during testing however i will install it after all other sea worthyness tests are successful. Stay tuned for the splash guard installation and testing of the 30hp outboard 😁💦🛥️

@@CameoAdamus yes 2 stroke and pull start, this is the Enduro Origins model which is the 2 cylinder, 2 stroke, single carb, gear shifter on the side... No fancy stuff just what made this style motor famous for its performance and reliability.

@@raymercado3650 the 30hp enduro origins model (not the new 3 cylinder with front shifter) which is a 2 cylinder with only the tiller and gear shift on the side is around 145k pesos, i dont know the 40hp price. 😁💦
