Hello Aurelien, First of all, congratulations on your superb skills and awesome videos. I am going to Chamonix on January 9, 2022 and would like to ski the same line you did from Aiguille du Midi if the weather permits. May I ask the following questions: 1) Is it your own rope that you used to rappel from the bridge? 2) approximately how long is the rappel from the bridge? (I heard that there are 2 or 3 pitches to rappel down before you can ski) 3) What kind of rope do you use in Chamonix? For example, do you use hyper static rope such as 6mm Petzl Rad Line or you bring rope such as Beal Opera 8.5mm which is rated as single/half/twin which is used for climbing? 4) what rope length do you recommend for Chamonix? Is 60 meters enough? Thank you in advance for your response and time! Andre

Did that couloir only twice quite some time ago, so not an expert of this line, but if this is of any help the rappel is 60 meters. There are 2 pitches, with the first one being free hanging. Anchors are in place. Might have to use a third if snow is bad (which it usually is). As an outsider (I'm from Verbier, Cham is not my resort) the couloir is really nice from a "tourist" point of view, but as far as skiing is concerned, you will find better and easier to access.

I miss Chamonix, but I do not miss the stench of the other people being jammed into the gondola. The amount of body odor and bad breath made me want to puke on so many occasions.
