Just start with a strong defense, once you have that you can calmly build an army to attack every opponent one after another. I advise you to build some mangonels so you can weaken them until you can attack with only a few men.

Sadly, the Gold Tires alone aren't enough for Gold Mario to look good. He also needs a golden vehicle body, and a…somewhat golden glider, and the Gold Standard and the Gold Glider are the only golden ones (for the Gold Glider, it's mostly black, with some golden details) in the game. Not only will Gold Mario look good on golden vehicles with golden gliders while racing, but the fact that he's the alternate skin of Metal Mario and not Mario himself will also be hidden this way.
