Our favorite campground! In the Spring when the California Poppies are in bloom it is supposed to be pretty! Nice video!

Just found your channel and subbed. I have a 4Runner too and really like Martha's channel so many different ideas and tips. That is a really nice state park, I've driven through there but didn't have the time to camp there. Have you been to Aguirre Spring Campground? It is absolutely stunning, my favorite place to camp in NM.

@@tinabeane thanks for watching & subscribing! I’ve got some more 4Runner camping videos coming up. The cot makes a world of difference. I enjoy Martha’s DIY projects, so many ideas! I’ve heard of that campground, might be a winter camp for me!

Excellent! I love the way New Mexico has such a beautifully diverse geography. Right at about 10:56 after you made the "tight turn" there is a mountain(s) on the horizon. Do you per chance know the name or location of that distant mountain?

It might be Castle Rock. It’s located in the Florida Mountain Wilderness area in southern Deming. Thanks for watching!

I had a stray cat climb on my engine once. I had to be at work at 5 am I never heard a cat scream like this one. There was chunks of fur flying out of the engine compartment followed by the cat which ran away as fast as it could

What a nice camping spot. Aside from backpacking the San Pedro Parks Wilderness area. I have only stayed on the other end of the Jemez. Enjoy your new 4Runner. I can imagine you were a bit traumatized breaking down. That is one thing I think about from time to time when I go solo camping on my ATV. In various parts of NM. I usually am extremely secluded and I hope it never happens. Take care of your foot and enjoy the outdoors! Life is great in the outdoors.

I just may have to get the NM parks pass, theres so many good places! wow, Wagyu burgers, that sounds great! Applaud you for getting out like that in spite of the weather. I hike regularly in the Sandias as I live close by. Even tho I wear a hat like you I will also carry a toboggan hat in my pack during the fall and winter months to cover my ears. I also typically carry a second jacket, pants, shirt and socks in the pack too. This is for when it gets really windy and cold then I layer up. I honestly love the western foothills in the winter after a fresh snow. But kudos for doing what you did!

There's 99 trails in the vicinity of Cloudcroft. I hope you return and enjoy them. Look up Lincoln National Forest, Sacramento Ranger Division. I've enjoyed using Lynn Melton's online trail guide and put the gpxs in my gps so I decrease my chances of wandering off the trail.
@CW-hb1yi Жыл бұрын
Turning back doesn't mean you are a quitter. It means you have calculated the risks and they are too high on this particular hike. Many people miscalculate how hard the Sandias are. I hike the mountains three hours away and often walk out a set distance then walk back. 2000' rise is a lot. A lot. Congrats. I bet you learned a lot from that hike. If you are wearing a jacket your pupper might need one too.
