They Punched way against their weight in Vietnam. Now days it's a Wedgetail AEW and C tasked squadron. Members of 2sqn proudly ware there citations from Ww2 and Vietnam. Including I believe, a U S. Presidential citation for their efforts in Vietnam. citation

God bless all you heroic and patriotic Australians. You were the very best of what made this country great . Im so sorry for what our current politicians have done to destroy the legacy you all valiantly fought for.🙁

I never wish for a war, but if i must fight, I will march to this song and honour the country and ancestors. This makes me extremely proud, to think they had no clue just how much they would become legends in our countries ❤

The RAAF was the world’s fourth largest airforce by this stage of the war with 6,000 aircraft and 150,000 men in uniform. About a tenth the size of the mighty US airforce, but punching well above its weight for a nation with a population barely nudging 7 million.

Friendly reminder! “At all hazards, we ought to preserve our ideal of a White Australia - even if we have to fight and die for that ideal - unless we are content to disappear. ” - Major General Granville de Laune Ryrie, 1865-1937, former politician and diplomat “White Australia is not a mere policy as far as Australia is concerned: It is a religion.” - Lieutenant Colonel Burford Sampson "I am directed to state that the Sailors and Soldiers Imperial League [forerunner of RSL] stands for the welfare and interest of our brave comrades... and, as its name implies, it stands for the national life of Australia and the Imperial destiny of the British race." - Brigadier General William Bolton, 1st National President of the RSSILA (RSL) 1916-1919 "Our men have fought to ensure the preservation of [the White Australia] policy and it will be a betrayal if any departure from that policy is advocated." - Captain Gilbert Dyett, 2nd National President of the RSSILA (RSL) 1919-1946 "[RSL] Policy: the integrity of the Empire: White Australia; ...a vigorous immigration system with preference to British stock above all others." - Colonel Eric Millhouse, 3rd National President of the RSSILA (RSL) 1946-1950 (In defence of the White Australia policy) "We offer no insult or criticism of other countries which may desire to do the same as we are doing, and actually are doing: maintaining their own nationality." - Sergeant George Holland, 4th National President of the RSSILA (RSL) 1950-1960 “Australia should remain for all time the purest British country in the world, a “White Australia” is one of the planks of our league’s platform.” - Sergeant George Holland, 4th National President of the RSSILA (RSL) 1950-1960
