I remember being a 11yr old not taking this storm seriously trying to be a "man" amd thinking it's not all that. Then as I was walking past one of the neighbours tall wooden fences opposite the road and it's just tore off. Imagine you tear a A4 paper in half lengthways. Right opposite me and it flew off into the wind. Then I realised this storm is deadly and can kill people. Luckily home was 50 yards away but I should never have gone out on an errand. Must have been about 8pm.

Definitely one of the least scary episodes of 999. Most episodes featured school activity weeks or sports days gone wrong. This show was the reason that when I was 10 the thought of going abseiling put the fear of God into me!

Elleray rarely got flustered. 22 angry men hurling insults and intimidation he wasn't having any of it. People at the time considered him strict but he was very fair but didn't let players take the piss with flying tackles and abuse.

Seaford is still as sleepy and 25 years behind the rest of the world which is part of the charm. I last went there during the first month of the pandemic and you could hear a pin drop.

I loved football games in the 80s and 90s there were much simpler and more addictive. Nowdays they are just pages and pages of stats & graphs. Sometimes simplicity is best.

How the world has changed. U can see the British stiff upper lip. Compare that to today’s behaviour. Perhaps our connection to the rest of the world via the internet, means behaviours have developed to what they are today. Such a huge change social media has made.

Just a thought. If that car that crashed was a modern day Electric Vehicle, those two would have been electrocuted and died because water is a conductor of electricity......
@neilsmith9473

I quote... "No. Not even remotely likely. Regular cars are still full of electronics. They rarely fail due to water, unless you literally flood them. Why would you think EVs would be any different? If we have the ability to protect all the electronics in a regular car, why would we suddenly forget all that on a car where the electronics are even more critical? In fact, EVs can potentially handle floods better than regular cars, as they don’t need air intake in order to run. While most are not, theoretically you could seal up an EV tight enough to drive it fully underwater."

With Amiga emulator WINUAE, when using WINUAE you need a kickstart rom, games are in ADF format

@@sunmax1234 can you tell me in idiot terms lol. I have no idea what that means lol
@sunmax1234
@sunmax1234 Жыл бұрын
@@bezlington2007 Emulators are programs on PC that emulate different consoles and home computers in this case WINUAE is what the amiga emulator program is called. On nintendo (NES) emulator you mostly just need to open or drag the separately downloaded game file into the emulator screen for it to work and maybe just bind the keys from the options But with amiga emulator for it to work you also need to download a kickstart rom, which apparently emulates amiga's booting-up firmware (but you don't need to understand the technical things for to get it to work) You need to insert both kickstart rom (whatever version works) and the game file for the game to start up/boot-up, on the amiga game file the format is usually (dot) ADF, so you know that it's the right format (file type). I'm myself currently using Playstation 2 emulator, I am able to play PS2 games on my PC (you have to have a decent PC and good graphics card for ps2 emulator to run smoothly), so even with there is some things you need to set-up for it to work. I don't expect you to know how to do this even with this advice, but at least you know a bit more now

I believe it's mandatory that every true disaster story must have an early labor/delivery story before it can be aired! (Actually the low atmospheric pressure during a weather event does bring on an early onset to labor.)

Sporting Spotlight: David Elleray In February 1989 you famously wore a microphone while refereeing Millwall v Arsenal. The subsequent documentary caused a media frenzy and officials haven't been recorded since. Do you regret taking part in the project? It was a shame the programme was corrupted. The original show looked at violence towards referees, particularly on local parks. They filmed me officiating the top game of the day as well as a local referee to see how we were both treated. I saw a preview which was very balanced, but it was then hijacked to become a witch-hunt of Arsenal. Bleeps were put in to give the impression that players were swearing when they hadn't. They only showed the occasions when there was some sort of dispute between the players and me. They edited out all the good exchanges and gave the impression that Arsenal had behaved appallingly. They destroyed the opportunity for people to have a really good behind the scenes look at refereeing. A balanced documentary would have given them greater access to referees wearing microphones in the future, which hasn't happened since. And it probably won't for a long time.
