Sorry for the late reply. Please check the Jmeter.log to see the details of the errors. Generally, the timeout errors will come when there is no connectivity. Please check whether you have connectivity.

Generally, we will do a capacity test with single slave machine to understand how much load it can take based on the hardware configurations. Once we finalize the number of slave machines required for testing the required workload, we will update them in the jmeter.properties.

Hi Vamsi, It's not necessary that every application should have docker image. Our objective is to test the application performance whether it is deployed using docker image or standalone application. In real-time, the actual application is deployed by infrastructure teams in a separate environment. For learning JMeter core concepts, I have used a docker image to deploy the application locally. Hope that answers your question.

@@vamsi257 Yes that's correct. InfluxDB & Grafana integration is required if you want export the Jmeter performance data and visualize it in better way. This is nothing to do with the applicatioin.

Hi Manoj, In order to survive in any field in IT including performance testing, you need to have some basic coding skills which you might learned during your engineering. You don't need to develop applications, but at least you should be in a position to write a basic logics using if conditions and loops based on the need.

We need to send username and password in encrypted format. for ex: we will give username and password in userdefined variables, but in the request these values must be in encrypted format.

@@venkya1469 Thank you for sharing the requirement in detail. In this case, we may need to use JDR223 sampler and write the logic to convert them in the desired encoded format and pass it to the request. In this case, you can still store the usernames as plain text as the encryption is happening runtime before passing the values. Hope that helps.

Based on the performance objectives of those microservices, we may perform different types of tests to validate the performance of the microservices. We may test them isolately to understand if there are any issues with that particular service. We may also create mock services in case of any external dependencies. In a nutshell, the performance testing the service using JMeter or any load testing tool is very similar and different types of tests will be scheduled based on the scope.

Could you please check if there is a connectivity from the cloud test environment to your local machine where influxdb has been installed. Because our actual tests will going to happen from the worker node and it should be able to communicate with the back-end listener(influxDB).
