I love how you laid them out in the center that way it looks perfectly staggered. You're a genius

Why do we need stair treads vs using the wood on the stairs under the carpet. Not sure if thats a good wood
@kawanathomas36425 ай бұрын
Did you just stain your existing step treads or did you add an additional wood tread piece to each step then stain?

Thank you so much for this video! The most straight forward video I’ve seen on KZbin. I was going to paint my risers white until I seen your video of the bead boards and it was so much easier. Thanks!!

Awesome we are planning on doing the exact same thing. Do you gloss the big portion with the multiple boards?
@bsnrao3152 жыл бұрын
I did not get the reason why you left space between the planks on the landing; surely you know dust & dirt will get in there, and over time, it will be difficult to get that out? Otherwise, it was all good.

It turned out beautiful!! 😍 I was happy to see what the walls looked like as they were being built out. In my mind, I envision doing the same on top of some 1970s "car siding" that runs throughout the house. I dont have the heart to rip it all out (and a little scared of what lurks beneath it!) so, building out the wall makes sense to me. I also want to keep it mostly intact in case a subsequent buyer wants to bring back that look.

How do you attach the window blinds inside the the framing? Is there a bracket on the top bar part? Ours were placed outside to the top of the interior window frame. I hope that makes sense. Great job by the way. Are you permitted to replace the windows?
@toyadesigns76172 жыл бұрын
I installed the blinds inside the window frame instead of mounting them outside. Due to the historic district, I am not permitted to change any windows that could be seen from the street. If any of the panes break, then I have to get glass cut and installed in the historic wood frame.
@Villanelle2k242 жыл бұрын
@@toyadesigns7617 you might want to upload a tutorial because so many people are hanging the wide slat blinds wrong. I have a 2" gap on each side now. I'm in a 1930s farmhouse with 31x64 windows that need replacing. Hanging blinds is tricky because you don't want to drill into the original woodwork framing. Unfortunately the seller did and hung blinds wrong. That's why I asked how you did yours. Thank you! You're giving great ideas! 👍
