You skipped the part where toy are able to get the tire off the bead, like everyone else that makes videos on this machine. It is making it appear you are promoting the machine and not giving an honest review on how hard it is to get it off. I just got one and I feel like I am going to break it, while trying to pry it onto the Duckhead, so it can be spun off. This is why I am even looking for these videos, to find one that shows why I am having suck a hard time because the metal is deflecting and bend down, with the amount of force I am putting on a simple 2nd Gen Prius car tire.

You have to make sure the tire goes in the drop center to remove or mount it. That's where you were having a hard time mounting the tire because the tire wasn't in the drop center. Once it's in the drop center, you really don't even need a machine to mount or remove the tire. You can actually remove or mount a tire with just two pry bars as long as the tire is in the DROP CENTER! I will go ahead and retire my Harbor Freight tire changer with the Lucid adapter and buy this tire machine. I'm just glad it's light weight to move the machine around anywhere. Just the bead breaker is all I want but that bead breaker helps turn the whole wheel to mount or remove the tire is a huge PLUS for me! All these years I've been breaking the bead and scratching the rim with those damn manual bead breakers! Those days will be over soon! I was actually about to buy the Mayflower tire changer just for the bead breaker and saw this tire machine while I was searching and had to KZbin it to see if anyone tried it yet. Thanks for the video! eBay is selling this machine for $439!

As long as you’re careful breaking the bead, don’t expect it to be an issue
@The22j18 күн бұрын
Tire sizes doesn't matter as long as the tire is in the drop center. Run flats are a little harder because the side wall is so hard but as long as it's in the drop center, it can be mounted or removed easily. Tire in the DROP CENTER is EXTREMELY important!!!!

Slight critique, would like to have seen a complete dismount & mount. Also, would liked to have seen the camera moved in closer, especially when your body was blocking some of the action, nothing personal, just seemed like there were a few critical steps/scenes missing(?) If there was a way to get an overhead shot, looking down on the process (vs from the side) that would've been awesome. That said, thanks for sharing the review!!

@barefootgaragejax9252Ай бұрын
@@Ernesto.66 for the beach, I think traction will be your main issue. Gear it low and make it heavy, as too much wheel speed (larger wheel sprocket) will spin the tires. Good luck!

@barefootgaragejax9252 On several occasions I have mentally designed the electric wheel to take the small dinghy to the sea but I have never tried to make it. I have always been afraid that the wheel on the sand would slip. Then I saw your video and I was heartened but having to travel about 100 meters on the sand, the rotation of the winch I think is too slow. I think I have to use a different electric motor. To make the wheel spin slower but stronger, whatever engine I am going to use, should the ring gear of the motor or the ring gear of the wheel be larger? Thank you ❤️
@barefootgaragejax9252Ай бұрын
@ for more speed, larger at the engine and smaller at the wheels is the ideal. For the beach, why not add dummy wheels and rubber tracks?

realize it is 2 year now.... but I have a thought about your traction.... get (2) 3" wheels.... attach them to a small swing arm that can pivot.... then have them inline with each drive wheel. take a bicycle tire and lap it over the drive tire and the small 3" wheel..... now pivot the swing arm down.... you have a track!!! then pivot it up.... and you still have a 2 wheel drive that can freewheel just like it does now!

Traction was my main issue! This idea is killer!
@TheMamonti16 ай бұрын
@@barefootgaragejax9252 I had problems with traction on a electric wheelchair..... so I did what I said above.... and no more traction issues at all.... if you can get the right size tire that will slip over the drive wheel and the small wheel without cutting it it works perfectly.... but even if you have to cut the tire use a piano hinge.. I used a linear actuator to raise and lower the swing arm... I also put a shock on the swing arm wheel since it was on a wheel chair to make the ride super smooth.... I am helping a friend build a trailer dolly and sent him your video... I told him to use a winch and so..... then I said I bet people have done this before and looked on you tube where I found your video.... I told him to use a bottle jack and weld the ball on it... that way if the ground is uneven you can adjust the height on the go! I used a bike tire since the tires on the wheel chair were 1 to 2".....but you may need a atv / golf cart tire due to the width.. but it is still the same concept. Aires came up with a snowblower that uses a similar idea.... called quick trac or something along that.... but it will give you an idea of what I mean.... I just looked it up.... it is called... Rapid trak... check it out! kzbin.info/www/bejne/e2jTm359iKt5jtU ...... BTW... the higher you can raise the pivot the easier it is to freewheel... you can see the contact surface of the drive tire... the smaller that contact the easier it is to freewheel.... the aires only lifts it a inch or so and leaves to much contact area but still works... if it raised 4 to 6" it is almost the same contact area you have now!

Their nickname in VW was Nordoff's Folly. Their top man spent a fortune developing them, then they didn't sell no matter the facelift that created the 412. There's virtually no spare parts available, if you ask a VW specialist about a Type 4 he'll think you mean an engine. To resurrect one you need deep pockets and years of dedication.

Turning radius was insufferable on my 2006. In 2008 they changed the triple clamps. The new clamps will switch out with no problem. Turning radius improves dramatically, to the positive. Ideally it would be nice to find the newer forks too because they moved the axle to a trailing position. However the 2006 forks will bolt in just fine.
