@@epictailsmarineadventures have you guys ever tried stopping the boat and dropping iron on them?

@fvgamechanger we don't usually, no. Bait stops are more an American thing. We get into them enough that usually just throwing chum keeps the school following you behind your boat. Just tease don't feed em 😉

Hey Capt when shes reeling in slow down to 2 knots FFS. Nice catch, what is the limit on albies up there? how far offshore was that? Thanks for video you still have some canned left?
@epictailsmarineadventures6 ай бұрын
We do slow down a bit..... sometimes lol. She can more than handle it, and won't hesitate to yell. 20 per person a day up here. About 40 miles out.
@ericluscombe32727 ай бұрын
hey again I want to do that so bad. I can't figure out how you're fishing them are you hand lining as well and what are those orange float looking thing.
@epictailsmarineadventures7 ай бұрын
We generally run 4 rods as our far back gear, 4 to 8 hand lines closer to the boat. Orange things are "splashers" they are attractors made to look like birds feeding.

Definitely a salmon shark, not a rare bicatch when tuna fishing offshore on the West Coast. Dogfish tho are caught closer to shore and on the inside... usually

yea i was gonna say i dont think dog fish get that far out. salmon shark would be cool to see but not cool well fishing for albacore tuna is this out of winter harbor?

Good choices. Not sure on the distance from Hardy tho. Most Hardy guys come out here from Coal harbour. Charts are spot on could be any day now. Someone's going out on Sunday to see. We went 45 miles out last weekend and they hadn't arrived yet. Any day now tho 🤞

130# on the rods. 200 on the hand lines and 200 mono for leaders. Experimenting with leeder length. 8 to 12 feet seems best. Reels are Shimano tyrnios and telica and some pen squalls
