It does nothing to the speed of Revit It does speed up detailing however! In the UK rebar detailing in Revit, not 2D detailing, is becoming more common. I would say you model the rebar in 3D but do the subsequent detailing, labels etc, in 2D.

Does using the software which includes placing rebar in the 3D model slow down the system?

+Dipo Adams HI Dipo, Thanks for the question. To do this firstly use the AUTOCAD "Save as" command to save the drawing back to the correct AUTOCAD version. Secondly, from the CADS RC pull down menu select utilities, then Save as V8.4 drawing or type cads_rc_saveas840 at the AUTOCAD command line.
