The first anecdote Soyinka gave was of Bola Tinubu, castigate him as we all do today, been an active part of the pro-democracy struggle. Every struggle/revolution needs money and Bola Tinubu helped provide it. Siimple! This was what Soyinka alluded to. And his comments are not reflective of personal gain. The money was used for the pro-democracy activism. Indeed the direct product of the "personal gain" you talk about is the collective democracy all Nigerians gained in 1999. The second story about Remi Tinubu bringing to Soyinka's spartan residence on his arrival from exile pots, pans and a fridge should mean little. These people are human after all! Anyone who knows any history should clearly see that Soyinka has been one of the most selfless individuals of reckoning the country has alive today. Soyinka has earned respect as been selfless struggle after struggle, government after government, pre and post independence. Even Gani sir, would not utter that Soyinka is or was selfish. It doesn't add up. About nobility, as far as I know, neither Falana nor Soyinka can claim nobility by birth. Or what kind of nobility do you speak about? His respect for Bola Tinubu is very selfish, because everything he said about Tinubu is what he personally gained. This does not in anyway justifies why Tinubu has converted Lagos to his personal property. I have noticed something strange about most yoruba supposed noble men like Wole & Falana they have never castigated tinubu for corrupt. Men like Gani did, but this supposed noble men, turn a blind eyes.

Bola Tinubu does not believe in this. When Tinubu leaves the stage or become genuinely democratic, the opposition is not going to achieve anything.
