when the entire Australian tennis resources fall on one player, wild cards gifted here and there, Cruz Hewitt has no choice but to keep going, hope he does well.

Love Cruz's backhand, down the line it's a solid shot. Plenty of opportunities missed where he could have transitioned to the net to finish off the point, but he'll learn that with time.

Im hoping he has significantly matured since I last saw him. I have seen Cruz (and by proxy Lleyton) at many different Australian Tournaments over the last few years and unfortunately Cruz acted exactly like someone whos dad was a famous athlete in the same sport he is competing in. After every match Cruz would make his dad walk onto the court and collect his bags for him, and after every loss Cruz and Lleyton would both be very confrontational with the other player, accusing them of cheating. The only thing worse than this behaviour was Lleyton enabling it. I've seen Cruz lose matches and throw his rackets, bags, and shoes onto not only his court but courts where other matches were playing as well. He has been handed opportunities within National Academies and tournaments that no one else without his name would even be able to come close to, so here's hoping he can take advantage of it

Now for our non-Aussie watchers. TS was an up-and-comer just a few years back, and he played lights out at this year's USO, surprised me. BT is making a comeback ... I am delighted to see him win this one 3/3, as it states a lot to Tennis Australia. Let's see if they reinstate funding to BT ... betting they won't, but if they do, they may have a born again here, and he may mean it this time. The raw talent of BT can be seen clearly here ... some of that cannot be taught.
