And I had a friend who was blonde and went to Howard….heres the simple answer: it’s a state of mind. if you’re gonna be a victim, you’ll be a victim. You won’t get lynched and hate crimes aren’t really -A THING- anymore. But if you will race things up, then even if you’re in an island full of black folks, you’ll always feel “off” because, perhaps, you’re lighter or darker than your peers. 🤷🏻‍♂️.

One of the primary issues I have with High Point University is that the ethos of God-Family-Country can restrict both intellectual debate and academic freedom. If I were a minority, I would find this discomforting. As Robert Kennedy said: "Progress is a nice word. But change is its motivator. And change has its enemies." From my experience, I've determined that maintaining the status-quo is a primary concern of this "university."
