What a beautiful "marriage of true minds." Through music and photographs, the video captures and reflects the textures, colours, tones, and moods of the evolving seasons: the brilliant greens of summer easing into a swirl of activity; the furry and flurry of a monochrome winter infused at times with bursts of colour; the gentle airy spring with its promise of rebirth. The cello and drums perfectly complement the guitar. A wonderful fusion.

Thanks 8string - yup JP Jones did a lot of icing parts on those albums - I think all I stole was the opening mando lick that he did, and for the rest of it just did my own thing with the basic chords

Hey I'm encouraged to learn songs for open tuning. I happened to love this one from Cat. I don't know if you noticed, that actual recording I have he's actually tuned to open Eb. I did find that Eb is essential for that intonation in the voice. So I'm tuning to that now, and using the capo on F1 for open E songs. Thanks a bunch. You saved me time of hunting for it all by ear.

Isn't that a fun tune to play? You've done a nice job; everyone who covers this puts a bit of their own spin on it. I especially like the 3 against 2 descending 'B' section; everyone interprets that bit a little differently. I learned Foxglove back in the 70s, and to this day I don't have a clue how I figured out it was in open C (C#) tuning. I think I must have been on shrooms or somethink... ;)
@moberlysound3 ай бұрын
@@PaisleyPatchouli thanks Paisley . That is the beauty in live music renditions they always have a little different spin on the performances. Even classical players who don’t typically play improvised material, but change up phrasing and articulations etc. cheers
@PaisleyPatchouli3 ай бұрын
@@moberlysound Yeah Cockburn plays it differently from one performance to the next. I've even seen him play it on a resonator guitar. When I originally learned it I was studying classical guitar at the conservatory, and everyone was hung up on getting things 'letter perfect'. It was liberating to be able to loosen up on interpretation as time passed.

hey Nicky - I believe this time I would have gone through a Boss GP10 ( 13 pin connector ) using a bit of reverb, delay and it sounds like a bit of chorus, which I almost never use. Also probably cut the bass below 100hz a bit. This is not from memory as it was too long ago to remember, but more from what I'm hearing today - cheers
