Not a very good version of Cripple Creek. Not well played.

I remember seeing this show when it was live. Fond memories. The refrain from "The Black Fly Song" that warned about North Ontario still echoes in my head to this day.

I can do the first two parts, however when you start fretting lower down the neck... I don't know that part. Do you have a link to where you learned this version. It fits exactly how I learned the first part.

I learned it from Doug Dillard of The Dillards. I have no idea how to explain what I'm doing here. I"m so sorry. Any basic banjo teacher will know, though. Thanks for watching!!

'Twas early in the spring when I set out to go To work up in the woods in north Ontar-i-o The unemployment office said they'd send me through With the Little Abitibi and the survey crew And those blackflies, the little blackflies Always a blackfly, no matter where you go I'll die with a blackfly pickin' my bones In north Ontar-i-o-i-o In north Ontar-i-o Well, the man Black Toby was the captain of the crew He said "I'm going to tell you boys, what we're going to do "They want to build a power dam, so we must find a way To make the Little Ab flow around the other way" And those blackflies, the little blackflies Always a blackfly, no matter where you go I'll die with a blackfly pickin' my bones In north Ontar-i-o-i-o In north Ontar-i-o So we surveyed to the east, we surveyed to the west We tried to make our minds up just how to do it best Little Ab, Little Ab, what shall I do? I'm all but goin' crazy on the survey crew And those blackflies, the little blackflies Always a blackfly, no matter where you go I'll die with a blackfly pickin' my bones In north Ontar-i-o-i-o In north Ontar-i-o 'Twas blackfly, blackfly, everywhere A-crawlin' in your whiskers, crawlin' in your hair A-swimmin' in the soup, a-swimmin' in the tea The devil take the blackfly and let me be With those blackflies, the little blackflies Always the blackfly, no matter where you go I'll die with a blackfly pickin' my bones In north Ontar-i-o-i-o In north Ontar-i-o Well, the bull cook's name was Blind River Joe If it hadn't been for him we'd have never pulled through He bound up all our bruises and he kidded us for fun He lathered us with bacon grease and balsam gum And those blackflies, the little blackflies Always the blackfly, no matter where you go I'll die with a blackfly pickin' my bones In north Ontar-i-o-i-o In north Ontar-i-o Well, now the work is over, Black Toby says we're through With the Little Abitibi and the survey crew 'Twas a wonderful experience, but this I know: I'll never go again to north Ontar-i-o With those blackflies, the little blackflies Always the blackfly, no matter where you go I'll die with a blackfly pickin' my bones In north Ontar-i-o-i-o In north Ontar-i-o

I think there should be a revival of programmes like this on TV. It would be good for children, we have nothing like this in the UK and I've just had my two year old twins and four year old boy dancing around the living room to this and asking for an encore 😊

Also if ya dig and enjoyed this song 😀 you may also enjoy the song " Most of All " By Glenn Kaiser and Where Roses Grow Live by Rez Band Awesome songs check them out. I remember hearing the song by Led Zepp " In My Time of Dyin " during my drug years and made me think about death and Jesus. Then a hippy friend that dug Jesus told me more of Jesus love and forgiveness and how I could also know Jesus love. So in 1981 I cried out to Jesus and wow man He came into my life and I had and have so much joy and peace and now know that through Jesus when I die I will be with Him in Heaven. Hey Jesus loves each of you also and yall can know Him if you are at all open. Just cry out to Him and a good question to ask yourself if you were to die today would you go to heaven ? And if yes why ? To find out more please read the Gospel of John in the Bible or check out the movie on KZbin. 😀

In a violent nature was a quiet but absolutely brutal movie. The killings were especially brutal. This song was amazing though.
