Such beautiful movement and techniques. I found out that this is possible with a canoe, a body, and a single-bladed paddle.

I just tried both of these techniques and tipped my canoe. I’ve now been at the bottom of a lake for 3 months but it was worth a try.

This is not funny, nor accurate, nor in good taste, nor good for the sport. How to turn people off, condescending insults.

This guy came and gave a slide show at my elementary school sometime around 93 or 94. I’ve never forgot about it. As a child is was absolutely inspiring. For the last decade I’ve been trying to find more information about that elementary school assembly I could not forget and finally here it is. Can’t wait to watch

Hey Guys, so I watched your full-length movie and really enjoyed it. I’ve been yakking a few years now mostly on the Rideau Canal and the St Lawrence River here in Eastern Ontario so I have a couple questions for you… one: why didn’t you use the rudder much ? Seems like in most scenes both rudders were up. Two: In all the miles between the Queen Charlotte Islands and Victoria why didn’t you show much of that leg of the trip ? I was very curious if you kept to the eastern eastern shore of Vancouver Island going south, or did you stick to the eastern shore of the Strait - and if that was the case where did you cross the open water between the mainland and the island ? Cheers, looking forward to hearing from you & keep on adventuring !! Darryl.

Rowed from Japan to Aleutian islands. People, even amateurs, row oceans every year. There's a race every year to row across the Atlantic called the Talisker Whiskey Challenge

You can do a Jam, where you put your paddle under the front of your canoe and angle the blade at 45 degrees, so that it acts as a rudder turning your canoe left, when you are on the right side. You can google Canoeing Jam, and there are videos. I hope this helps!
