Excellent! Any chance of making this into a fully published piece? I'd like to bring this to my band next year, but would prefer paying more for some 9x12 connected sheets, instead of printing them all. Thank you for making the arrangement. It's fantastic.
@johnivorholland22 сағат бұрын
Hello Alexander, thank you for getting in touch; I had great fun creating the arrangement and, as currently presented, it is fully published in its entirety as one package (although some of the titles were available separately and I published those as well). When you buy the arrangement, the whole suite is available for you to print at any time - the only way it would become available in the format you desire is if the publishers decided to include it in their own catalogue and print the traditional way, but this is fast becoming redundant as more people move to using electronic tablets or choosing to print at home to save paper and other resources. I hope that if you do decide to purchase the set (as several other bands in the US have done), you'll find that printing on your terms will be the better way forward and will always be available to you, especially when parts eventually become unusable and need reprinting. All the best, John

What grade concert band is this targeted at?
@johnivorhollandАй бұрын
Hello Chris, thank you for your comment. Most of my concert band pop charts, including this one, are pitched at the easy-intermediate level, so around US grade 3.5-4, or UK grade 5-6. I hope that helps. 😊

Is this available with Vocal parts as well?
@johnivorholland3 ай бұрын
Thank you, that's a valid question. At the time when I arranged it, it was conceived to be purely instrumental, but the vocal parts from the original score can be sung over the top, as it's in the same key and follows the same pattern as the Broadway recording. I've already sold several copies of this arrangement as it is, so if I were to include the vocals I would need to arrange it slightly differently and republish, but I don't think there's a need to, it should work ok.

Hello, thank you for your comment. This is not a recording of a particular band, I have created this concert (wind) band arrangement in the music programme Sibelius and exported the sound using the playback engine NotePerformer. It gives an idea of what the score sounds like, but when played live, it may sound slightly different. My arrangement is being sold worldwide via the ArrangeMe programme from Hal Leonard.

@@johnivorholland Well, John, it's amazing. Two of the songs that I have listened to literally thousands and thousands of times and have a visceral reaction to are the original, long, studio-recorded version of "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" by Diana Ross and the Misty Dub Mix of "Change" by Lisa Stansfield, remixed, and with additional production by Frankie Knuckles for Def Mix Productions: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iaiQYpawid6Fpq8si=Zu1VBGkv0oic-J7g I usually finish my workout with a dance combination to one or the other of them. @johnivorholland Жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment! I heard the song being used to promote the Barbie Movie (although I already knew the song) so I listened to the original Mama Cass recording and tried my best to make the concert band version as close to it as I could. The woodwind instruments are following what the strings do, although there is some of my own writing in there as well, and the vocal line really suited the saxophone, although it is spread around a bit to give more players the melody. I made the arrangement in the Sibelius music notation programme and exported the video using NotePerformer sounds. The score and parts are available to buy and download by following the link in the video description. 😊
