Cool. I recently saw the A Study in Terror for the first time. A very good Holmes movie. One thing that struck me as funny though was at the beginning of the movie Holmes is home at 221B Baker St., and calls down to Mrs. Hudson asking her what she's done with his tobacco. She tells him to look in his violin case, he looks in the case and finds the tobacco. But shouldn't he have been able to deduce where she had put it? I'm sure there were clues aplenty that he could have used to track down the misplaced weed. He was the worlds greatest consulting detective after all.

Thanks for this Mike. I've been working on this for about a fortnight using 2 other tutorials but had just about given up. I have an unusable pinky finger on my fretting hand so have to adapt slightly as I go. Having come across your channel I think I'll stick with it now. I usually use open tunings so much simpler chord shapes, but determined to get a version of this together in standard.
@MikeFowlerguitars2 ай бұрын
That's very kind of you to say. It must be a little frustrating regarding your pinky, but I think this is still doable for you. The 5/4 sequence is the more difficult bit, but you could probably get away with just doing the chord shapes instead , I think it goes from a C to an F, then a Bb and then what looks like a Bb maj7 but with open A bass. If you need any help let me know.

Thanks for this. I've learned the fingering but this gives me the feel.Beautifully played. Clannad recorded this on there first album in english. The producer I believe insisted they had to have at least one song on the album in english not Gaelic. Here it is. I also saw a youtube clip of Judy Garland from a movie in the thirties sing the song. Strange rhythm. Enough.

Thank *you* Thomas for your interesting comment there. I remember playing this 15 years ago, and a gentleman there knew the Judy Garland version, not knowing it was an Irish air first.
