Can you possible to guide me how to make this CNC. Which controller use
@mickpaul53705 жыл бұрын
The controller I used was a cheap one off ebay from China. 4 Axis CNC stepper motor driver TB6560. I also got 4 NEMA17 stepper motors from ebay. Metal work was home brew from 25mm tube and some all thread rods. If I build another machine I would pay the extra and use roller ball screws rather than the cheaper allthread rods.

Hi sadly I have not got airborne with this setup yet so I can't really comment on how it works in flight. Hold up to flying has only been the retracts nothing to do with radio. The bench testing looks good had no problems.

+Mick Paul ive been flying mine that i just bought at auction with stock motor and esc with 3s 2200mah and slow as shit.
@MickPaul8 жыл бұрын
+Ken Pappas yep pretty slow and boring on 3s. I have my throttle limited to 75% on 4s to keep the current limited to the motor, and it flies great. I will never put a 3s in it again.
@kenpappas95208 жыл бұрын
Can you take a pic as to how you mounted 4S and where please.

If you are converting from brushed to brush less you need to change the ESC for a brushless ESC.

@renixcharles38269 жыл бұрын
Okay thanks, I had to ask cause I notice few folks on KZbin running theirs on 4s but I don't know how reliable it'll be
@MickPaul9 жыл бұрын
Renix Charles Hi Renix, I think as the motor is only really to get initial launch altitude (and emergencies) the load on the motor (duty cycle) is quite low, one thing to check is the ESC is rated to take the amps ESC will typically die before the motor if it's not capable of taking the load. I am flying many of my (3S) models on 4S, as are many of my friends, to date all have been fine, it is really important to check the load with the prop, couple of models we have "throttle" limited due to very excessive amps. Heat is the danger so keep an eye on the temperature on some ground runs also if you can.
@renixcharles38269 жыл бұрын
Won't the motor burn up?
@MickPaul9 жыл бұрын
Renix Charles Hi Good question, and yes there is some increased possibility the motor will burn out. Per these motors it's difficult to know what their maximum rating is when they ship with the model, little or no documentation. Going from 18.5 amps (192w) to 27amps 378w) = 46% increase. I don't fly it on 4S and have found the best change was to increase the prop size and keep the original (lighter) 3S battery. I can't remember the thrust difference as I did it too long ago, but moving to 12" prop improved the powered flight a lot! And with very little additional load on the motor. First flight on the lager prop was just "wow", much nicer.

Why do people not open the aerial fully, always see it at an angle
@MickPaul9 жыл бұрын
WorksopGimp Hi WorsopGimp well RF does not radiation (or is at minimum) off the end of the antenna, so if the antenna was extended and pointed towards the model that would give the weakest signal. On my taranis I extend it just a small amount (when I remember) because the return loss (VSWR) or SWR for old CBers is best when it is slightly away from the case. Hope that kind of helps.

Is this on the standard ESC?
@MickPaul9 жыл бұрын
That test was with the stock ESC. Since the test I have replaced it with 60A ESC and fly it on 4S only now. MUCH nicer to fly on 4S ;)

I've given up with multi-rotors. Nearly lost my F450 even with RTL on it. I just revert to plane mode when it does something unexpected. Can't teach an old dog new tricks. Just been made redundant and at 58 chance of another job in IT are very slim, So may get lots of building done. You seem to have the hang of that one. Hope to have new FPV wing up soon. Keith

Hey sorry for disturbing but I really need all this information, here's my question,1.is the stock built in module compatible with the others v and d series receiver besides the newest x series?2.if it is compatible with the older d series,does it give rssi signal strength display on the radio?3.do you know what is the maximum range of the stock built in module and the X8r receiver?4.if is compatible with the v series receiver, does it display the rssi signal strength on the radio? 5.can I use this radio with the stock built in module for huge turbine rc jets? Will Appreciate your help if you could answer me.
@MickPaul10 жыл бұрын
Hi Aaron sorry I didn't see your first message. Yes the internal Taranis module is compatible with V and D series receivers. You can find a very good list of Taranis compatible receivers and their capabilities on alofthobbies website and also on the openrcforums.
@aaron.t43810 жыл бұрын
Which module are you using? Does the module comes with another antenna? I'd there anyway to use the built in antenna?
@MickPaul10 жыл бұрын
Hi Aaron RC, I'm using the build it module in D16 mode. No additional module required.
@aaron.t43810 жыл бұрын
What is the range?is it okay for huge turbine rc jets? The built in module can support up to 16 channels by binding two x8r's together right?

Hi Aaron, I don't use any external module. So it it used exactly as it was from new out of the box with the internal module and fitted antenna. Does that makes sense?

@MickPaul10 жыл бұрын
Hi Keith yep you and I both, thought it was going in for sure. No response to any stick inputs, just a spiral dive like an arrow. Brain was telling me inputs (opposite to what you think it needs), but nothing, it was like it had no receiver on-board, regardless of inputs it just continued falling like a collapsed kite and it didn't look like it would recover. I was about a 100th of a second from giving up when it finally came out of the spiral dive like nothing was wrong. I'm gong to put that video up again with audio :)
