Pretty scientific explanation man. Thank you so much for the insight, especially about the biceps!

I think Odd went to my high school in Lafayette N.Y. as an exchange student.My brothers had the school record for shot put and discus even though they were not on the track team. Odd, who stayed with the Shaw family, broke both records. He also competed in football and wrestling. A very nice kid.

The real wsm winner from 2008 - I don't care if he made a mistake on the stones, he was way stronger than pudzianutski
@hristo56893 жыл бұрын
Stronger doesn’t mean the better strongman. Why did for example Savickas fail at powerlifting? Obviously doping controls played a key part but it shows you that it’s not about static strength but all around performances where nobody could match Mariusz.
@oglocbaby5207 ай бұрын
@@hristo5689 Old comment, but I think that poster was saying that Derek's overall performance in 2008 was better than Mariusz. I distinctly remember watching that years ago when it first came out, Derek was on point that year and things were quite tight but that one slip on the stone was all the difference. Mariusz was a fantastic competitor and excelled at any of the more athletic based type events, though he did lack a bit in terms of absolute strength for the static events. He actually was fairly close to winning in 2009 against Zydrunas Savickas. However, I think a prime version of him may have really struggled in the more recent years of strongman, where they have been incorporating way more one rep max or just very heavy events instead of the more explosive and speed oriented stuff.

That was a very good point you made about people who are socially awkward gravitating towards weight training. Now gym culture is commercialized but I can remember back when I got into lifting/history of bodybuilding etc I was an outsider, felt like a loner in Highschool. I wouldn't have put social awkwardness as part of the reason I was attracted to training but I definitely agree that many of us get into training because of it.

A good interview, with good questions; it was interesting and informative. Some constructive critisim from my point of view, take it or leave it as you wish, is that you kept looking at the camera, which i found distracting and you said 'awesome' quite a lot. Odd only looked at the camera when he spoke to it. He seemed very focused. That probably comes from experience.

Big Z is just the ultimate strongman. So far no one else can take that title. Possibly Haftor in a few years, but for now Big Z is still the best that's ever lived.

The guy in the blue shirt looks like some middle age bald person who doesnt really practice what he preaches. He is built like teenage boy. I bet if you try to reason with him he gets militant as hell and upset. I try to listen to people but these assholes are so hard headed they firmly believe their way is the shit even though they dont look like shit in person.

Look at Broz's delts, traps and arms. its obvious he either doesnt train that hard or what he does isnt working or he would at least have some time of muscularity. Plus like allot of morons now he has these ugly ass tattoos. Most powerlifters give the worst advise and are some the hardest headed people I have encountered in the gym Most of them either look like normal size people or they look fat..
