The fuel pump solenoid is controlled from the ECU which is variable depending off the engine, the solenoid allows full 3 PSI pressure at static and a lot less at low to mid RPMs, the fuel stop solenoid is the problem not the pump, best way to check is use a full tank of fuel and run the fuel tank direct to the carbs allowing gravity feed

Always check out the fuel cut off solenoid located in the tail unit just above the tailight under the seat, a common problem is the failure of the soleniod which effects the rear cylinder more than the front cylinder, easy and cheap to the replace before writing of the fuel pump

Just bought a Hornet similar to that one 2001 model, only rode it twice since having it and in the first 3 gears it goes really well but in gears 4 & 5 it doesn't seem to pull that well, any ideas what it could be, i'm thinking maybe the carbs need cleaning?

Hi my cbr 125 2012 has bad full throttle acceleration and response and my bike has lost 15 mph top end as well. Iv changed every thing on the bike including a whole engine. I used to be able to wheelie the bike from the lights but no there no power to do it. And its harder to red line the bike iv noticed. Apart from that the bike runs fine i ride it 6 hours every day.
