Flood the floor surface with milk and the fatty oils will be soaked into the floor after a few weeks or so. Then clean up the leftovers. Soaking pottery in milk for weeks makes pottery waterproof. Makes your pottery cups into drinkable containers. There's other alternatives to but the basic idea is getting oils trapped in the pours creating a water repellent barrier because oils and water don't like to mix. 🫴

I have a cement floor (80 square meters) and I would like to convert it to clay floor. Do you think I would get good results doing it on this? Do you have any advice for me? Thank you and I congratulate you on your work.

Really nice work. That's Linseed oil right? Any wax?

The oil also gives the floor a lot of strength.
@AlFonso-p6p
@AlFonso-p6p 20 күн бұрын
Not sure about strength but it would protect it from the elements I think? Kinda like a layer of wax on a car. Keeps moisture out and reflects uv rays making a shine keeping the surface more cool and heat resistant thus prolonging the life of the paint job. 🤷

@@AlFonso-p6p The oil polymerizes and binds the sand and clay together. Without the oil, the floor will crumble. We waxed our floor after sealing it with 4 coats of oil. The wax makes it more durable and water resistant.

What's the square foot coverage of a gallon of oil? Do you use tung oil?
@bradleycooper5436
@bradleycooper5436 9 ай бұрын
tung oil is Asiatic, linseed (flax) is more traditonal but there is no noticeable difference between the two

Im one of the guys in the video. We were matching the preexisting wall made by The CCC . So it had to be the same size . The mixture of clay lime and rock was determined by the project leaders to be adequate. And we also re used the fallen adobe wall . Skid it up the location and smashed the old material down for reuse in The mixer
