Thanks so much for this video man. I had a couple of really nice 20-30 pound salmon on today and I think because I was not quite setting my trip correctly I was losing them after a few seconds of hooking up

Hello, From California I'm gunna order me some 3- 3.5 lures for the sierras, from you. Whats a good rod and fishing line line you would recommend? Thanks!
@characterlures23773 жыл бұрын
Hey boss thank u for the reply and support. Im a 1000% firm believer in IZORLINE copolymer xxx 2lb or 4lb. We will have in stock shortly on our website as well. As for a rod depends on if your fishing the creeks or the lake. For the creek with a good amount of brush/bushes tress around a smaller rod 5' maybe ultra light only. For lake we run 7 to 7'6" ultra light rods. And we swear by the okuma sst rods or ugly stik makes a great rod as well. Any other questions ask away boss
@characterlures23773 жыл бұрын
And im not sure what you mean by the 3-3.5 but the size we would recommend is the micro 1/8oz and our 3/8oz
@jso2753 жыл бұрын
@@characterlures2377 Thanks for the quick reply my Man.I meant 3 to 3.5 gram lures. Not sure if u have that size. But, definitely gunna check out the micro size. For the micro spoons are single hooks an option on your website? Appreciate your suggestions on for Rods.
@characterlures23773 жыл бұрын
@@jso275 single hooks is hook we rig all our spoons now. We use a sickle siwash hook. Different the normal J hooks. The harder the fish fights the deeper these hooks set themselves. But still less lethal or damaging then a treble. So single hook is now the only option

For those that haven't tried these spoons, you gotta do it! They work well in the Bay Area Fesh Water Lakes from what I have experienced :-) I have caught some nice Mt. Lassen Trout with them :-) See my Profile Picture? That was on a Fire Tiger Spoon :-)

I prefer a unni knot , with thicker line sometimes have trouble getting the double line through the hook eye with the palimer
@characterlures23775 жыл бұрын
It does depend on what your tying to for sure
@bubbacrosbyh20035 жыл бұрын
A big reason you use a swivel is to eliminate a lot of twists in your line...he didn't say that. And the swivel he used was an import swivel it looked like, and the snap is the weak link, not the knot. Should use an interlock swivel.
@characterlures23775 жыл бұрын
@@bubbacrosbyh2003 your right the reason for the swivel is to eliminate line twist thanks for mentioning it i forgot to. The snap swivel i use is an Eagle Claw which im sure is an American Company... this set up has never failed me before as where tying directly to the lure can get cut by the swinging action when its tied to the sharp edges of the metal punch hole of the spoon... every fisherman has there own styles tight lines
