I have watched many alcohol ink videos and find this so informative. What I like best is not thinking about how it will turn out, but to let the ink do what it wants. I'm free!

I feel like Tim Holtz would want everyone to do what they love with what they have. I might be wrong. I am drawn to his christmas idea-ology items. I have recently scaled down my creating to quilting and miniature crafting because it's what makes me very happy. Thank you Tim for what you do, you are loved!

Thank you so much for inspiring us to try new things/products! I'm taking baby steps. Your creativity is so infectious. I bought a bunch of alcohol inks and gave them a try with the baubles. The ones I did using crimson came out very dull versus shiny. Any ideas what I did wrong? And, very Happy Holidays to you and Mario 🎄❣

Hello, I’m from Netherlands and just started with alcohol ink. Is it possible to use varnish the ink? If yes, what do I have to use? Thank you on forehand for your answer. Kind regards, Karen Voshol

@@KarenVoshol Hello. It is not recommended to use varnish over the inks as most products react with the colorants.

@@timholtzI colored some christmasbaubles on the outside. If not varnished will the colors stay? I understood that the ink will fade away if not protected….

Hello! Great to see you! I live in 🇬🇧 UK I have problems with this beautiful art form because me and my friends cannot get hold of alcohol for thinning the white alcohol ink, can you give me any advice please 🙏 I’m an artist , using normal mediums like , acrylic in tubes, watercolours, pastels and pencil. I’ve had exhibitions. I saw a lady today using alcohol to thin her colours. I want to get started with everything I need for my new project . I would be very grateful if you can tell me what to do. Kind regards Chrissie Cronnolley 🫣💃🕺xxxx

I suggest Blending Solution when trying to thin pigment based Alcohol Inks like Snowcap Mixative (white), Metallics, Alloys and Pearls. Isopropyl Alcohol is best used with dye based Alcohol Inks (colors). Art from the Heart is in the UK, they sell Alcohol Inks and Blending Solution.

I love it all, I make miniatures and mini sceans so it all works. I’ve just become a pensioner (age 66 ugh) I only have distress ink pads, so I think I’ll be long gone by the time I could get these things, so I’m hoping wherever my soul goes it has a huge. Craft room full of the stuff lol. So…..I make cards etc too…. What can I afford next lol Keep them coming anyway cause I love to see them all. Ps. I love the lights and and and, oh you know what I’m saying hehe Happy holidays/christmas Hugs to you both xxxAnnxxx

3:15 - Xyron "cardstock" - What is the actual product you are using in this video on window frames and where can it be purchased? Do you have to have a Xyron machine to do this? Thanks.
@timholtz

Xyron is a machine that requires a cartridge to apply adhesive or laminate. I use the permanent adhesive cartridge on my cardstock for the windows.

Replay Crew: This was a great overview and explanation of the surfaces and tools, for example why one would want to or not want to ink dip/smoosh onto a craft mat vs a glass board. I like the new white surface option as well; it'll be very beneficial for lots of folks.
