I used to play this piece... it's very easy and sweet... the boy is far too harsh with the sound... I'm surprised that he was invited to a masterclass.

at the beginnign the kid was playing way too strong and didnt respect any of chopin markings

Exactly... and this melody is soft and sweet... why was he invited to a masterclass if he doesn't have a basic level of musicality...?

It doesn't matter if Lang Lang is a good pianist or not, or if he is paid a lot for these master classes, teaching his art to young people with passion and gentleness, is the noblest thing in the existence of a man, and he does it with great sympathy and love. No doubt he is a beautiful and great person.

I am a nothing "piano player" BUT I would be embarrassed to hear I played a song when I was age 12-and I'm MANY times that today. Lang Lang is introducing Rishi to the concept of bringing "sad" into playing. Of course, the older one gets and experiences life in all its iterations, sadness is expressed differently--that creates the colour in the music, from playing to performing.

What is a masterclass but the master showing how HE would play it? The student's performance here is superlative.

Why would you expect such a unique person to conform in such a boring way?

Because he's Lang Lang, one of the great pianists ever and it doesn't matter what he's wearing, the only thing that matters is what he has to say and teach us about music

why?
@m4gn3tic822 жыл бұрын
@@daelilith4646 the thing is that from the audience’s perspective it’s more of a performance than watching a classroom. Imagine having to be taught a piece in front of 50 people watching you.
