What adhesive did you use to stick the sensor to the kush wide? And so far any issues?
@FilthyMcNasty
@FilthyMcNasty 6 ай бұрын
It's nothing too fancy, just some Loctite spray adhesive "professional performance contact adhesive 300 heavy" that came from Lowes/Home Depot. Blue and gray spray can with a black lid. And zero engagement issues thus far.

Have you tried to brake hard on it yet? I feel like it’s not holding the brake to a complete stop, but releasing about 80% in to a tail drag.

Can't say I get the same feeling you're describing... Though I do know what you're talking about. I brake pretty hard on the reg, it's never felt better imo, especially going downhill, having it go a little nose down really gives more braking clearance.

How's it look under the footpad? Did you anchor the connector cable somehow? I've been brainstorming ideas but was curious about what you did. Thanks for the video!
@FilthyMcNasty
@FilthyMcNasty Жыл бұрын
I cut a slot in the pad to feed the connector through, it's literally just taped to the bottom of the pad in such a way that it sits in the little groove on top of the controller box.

I’m considering doing this but would want them to be the same style footpads, is there a reason why you went with two different ones? I’m trying to decide between the kush wide and c&r air pad.
@FilthyMcNasty

Well, it's a long-ish story but tldr I had them both, the Airpad was already installed and it just made sense. I also feel that the KW is just better suited to taking a sensor, as the material is more rigid and gives me confidence that the sensor should work properly. I initially ordered the AP, but then there were delays, I got impatient and ordered the KW. They ended up arriving within 24hs of one another. I rode the KW for 2 days but the allure of that sqishy air pad got me and I had to swap it. At the point I decided to go ahead with the transplant, i had been riding the AP on the rear for just over a week and had really been enjoying it. I ride a bit heavy on the back foot so that squish is really nice. But again the extra rigidity of the KW just inspires more confidence in my control up front.

@sgtfelixfpv8451 For my riding(90% street not big on drops/tricks), I think I'll be fine without reinforcing the battery lid. But if you're doing drops, heavy trail rides or lots of curb nudges and other tricks, I'd probably do so.

How fast were you going when you were going by the houses on the street? It looked pretty fast.
@FilthyMcNasty
@FilthyMcNasty 2 жыл бұрын
I really don't know. Could have been as fast as 19-20mph. Likely somewhere in the 14-18mph range. The wide angle 360 cam makes everything look faster. I hit top speeds of 19-20 basically every ride I take, but never really for sustained periods. On my recorded rides in the app, my average speed is usually between 12-14 mph.

Actually it serves a very real purpose. A windscreen on any microphone will cut down on "esses" and "plosives" in recorded human speech which can be very unpleasant, especially when listening on headphones or on a tinny phone speaker. In addition to that... You guessed it, the windscreen helps to "screen" the microphone from "wind" noises. Hence the name windscreen. That said, The sm57 does have a small enclosure with a screen around the capsule head, but that's more for protecting the capsule while still letting sound through. It does next to nothing to help reject undesirable sounds. This microphone is most commonly used for mic-ing instruments or amplifiers on stage and not for vocal work which is probably why it is designed without much of a windscreen. That's not to say it isn't perfectly capable for use with voice. Its internal design is basically Identical to the sm58 vocal mic, arguably the most popular microphone of all time and probably what most people see in their head when they think of a "microphone". All in all the broader point is showing people a way they can get higher end sound and usability out of a microphone that should be commonly available on the used market for under $100 at least in the U.S.. This simple sub $50 modification helps bring the usability and sound profile of the sm57 closer in line to something like the sm7b, which is the super fancy $400 microphone that you see a huge number of big streamers/youtubers using. So, yeah. That's the point. oh yeah... and to help people not destroy the thing when they install it on their sm57.

the only reason to ride a GT is for the range you get out of the box. your stance is extremely stationary watching your video on that deck. Its boring and nothing like what you can do and how much better someone can ride with an XR. unless you're riding to race the GT is a disappointment. boring

Got the Shure A2WS for my SM57 two months ago. Maybe it’s a new iteration of this windscreen but it fit better than the one in this video and came with a plastic collar to secure it with a small screw and not mar the finish on the microphone body.
@FilthyMcNasty
@FilthyMcNasty 3 жыл бұрын
That's the a2ws. The a81ws is not the oem screen for the sm57 but still fits and offers better plosive & breath reduction.
@jasonbodden8816
@jasonbodden8816 2 жыл бұрын
The A2WS works like a charm. I wouldn't even bother with this. The plosive reduction is just fine on the A2WS, breath isn't an issue, and fits quite easily on the mic without any fuss. In fact, I'm buying another one as I gave one to a friend for his SM57 and he can't believe how much better it sounds as a vocal mic now. Almost like a SM58.
