I'm kind of curious if you have ever sharpened the more ice recurved serrated? I have some in my shopping right now and I'm not certain I want to take it on to my twice as sharp. I know I will have to change the bevel at the Apex and I'm not certain how well that will stand up.

@@minnesotamarine9861 good day! Sorry for the late response. I have done quite a few of the curved serrated ones on the TAS. I get very few callbacks. People seem to be happy with them.

But is that edge legit and how long does it hold before your back at the bench....I've been told by 4 shops we can't re-edge them so..I honestly don't think they made them with sharpening in mind..until they came out with that little pocket Lazer sharpener..but who has any faith in it...I've gotten 3 seasons outta my 4inch new blades so far...if these seem dull this season I'll try to sharpen them like you if not then they just made another 30$ off me.

Not really sure what you mean by a legit edge…we basically follow what is on the blade. Longevity of the edge really depends on the usage and care of the blade itself. I get auger blades in that are badly chipped which would definitely affect the integrity of the blade. We sharpen many ice auger blades. We also sharpen many blades for research crews and have had very little to no complaints. I also service my own ice auger blades with no issues.

Lausi Kraut again: what model Wahl clipper do you use?
@leadingedgesharpeningservi6208
@leadingedgesharpeningservi6208 2 жыл бұрын
Good day! I use the Wahl arco lithium clipper. The blade on the clipper is a 5in1 blade. The blade has the following settings (9, 10, 15, 30 & 40). I like using this clipper as it’s lighter and quieter which is nice for the more skiddish dogs. I hope this information helps 🎉

@@leadingedgesharpeningservi6208 thank you for your response. The other question I have is: what is the first tool you use to reduce the undercoat. Is there a model number or how many blades are in this tool, who has it? Thank you

@@kseibert60 good day! The tool I used is called a Coat King Rake. Mine has about 30-35 teeth (I can’t remember exactly). There are other brands on the market that are very similar if you can’t find a coat king in your area. Also…I wrap a rubber band around the teeth of the tool. This helps grip the hair more when pulling. Hope this helps!

My 2 year old male’s chest hair is so long now it picks up way too much foreign material on walks: twigs, burrs, etc. How to shorten it without ruining the look of the setter?
@leadingedgesharpeningservi6208
@leadingedgesharpeningservi6208 2 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the late response…I’m currently away at the US Nationals showing my setters. I would suggest using a fine thinner or “fluffer”. This will enable you to shorten the hair and at the same time blend the hair to maintain the featherings. Below are links to some that I feel would b a good choice. leadingedgesharpening.ca/product/fluffer-7-piano-teeth-fluf-40t/ leadingedgesharpening.ca/product/46-tooth-professional-pet-grooming-thinner-163049/ leadingedgesharpening.ca/product/thinning-shears-5-6-tooth-le6-56t/ leadingedgesharpening.ca/product/professional-pet-grooming-thinning-shear-65-tooth-7-5/ I hope this information helps and again sorry for the late response

What size Coat King do you use? It very much depends on coat texture. I damaged a very straight dark shiny back coat on a dog one time, but on my heavy undercoat UK dogs it is really really really helpful.
