Great tutorial. A few tips though: The coupler you dove to pull back with vice grips... you didn't need to do that. The square head fastner is a set screw you failed to remove impeding the coupler from sliding back. Using a body clip removal tool to pry into the slotted area around the coupler where you removed the two large bolts to loosen its grip to the shaft. Those are what's referred to as pinch bolts. Lubricant between coupler and shaft with a little heat (I prefer small MAP gas torch) will greatly aid you. Pry gently between coupler and rotate the shaft in 1/4 turn increments to evenly separate. When coupler moves freely on shaft you may now use the feeler gauge and do engine mount adjustments. Reinstall set screw with loctite blue, other fastners use copper antiseize. Safety wire is overkill, but whatever. By the way your favorite feeler gauge is pronounced "ten thousandths" in any mechanics / machinists shop fyi. Help you sounds more official lol. The spec you should shoot for next time is .003-.005. .010 frankly is close enough ha ha. Sincerely, - a skilled mechanic who cares. :)

One note: the two mounts on the torque loaded side of the engine need to be a harder rubbber. They have a number rating value. I believe they are differentiated by blue color as opposed to orange. Nice tip to remove the bracket from the engine rather than hoisring it clear.

I have to assume you used A.I. to eliminate harsh old English language, bleeding, sweating, and skinned knuckles that accompany this kind of job when I do it. Nice work anyway.

How did you fit there? I have a PSC 34, and that is nuts. I appreciate the video!

Your coupling should have moved aft to get off of the spigot. That is the machined bit that mates with the engine coupling, that is why you can not see light between the mating surfaces.

Nice video! Why isn't there flexible coupling between engine and shaft?

Nice! Thanks for the link to the SS motor mounts. I like the fact that they have more vibration dampening as well.

I would put anti seize on the stud threads top and bottom.keeps stainless from galling and if it was steel keeping the rust from forming.that white hose by the shaft coupling should be moved or super secured.good video 👍👍👍

What is the name of that corkscrew tool that you used to remove it? I haven't seen one of those before. Also, I thought the reason for two was so that you could offset where the ends came together by 180 degrees.

HI Nick, the tool is called a packing extractor. Here is a link to one: www.amazon.com/Palmetto-1101-Extractor-flexible-removeable/dp/B00887BSP8/ref=asc_df_B00887BSP8/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=503460592068&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=7076512498812039808&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9011484&hvtargid=pla-1194797278502&psc=1 Two would definitely be better but my stuffing box only had enough space for one. I have talked to other PS owners and this seems to be the consensus.
