Hi just stumbled on your channel. Awesome video of a really beautiful region. Wondering how long it took you to do this trip. You mentioned that you travelled 15k km - I'm currently planning a very similar trip for my wife and I. Any advice as to how long to allow?

Hi and welcome 🤓👍 15,000klm over 9 weeks from Tweed Heads to Broome and back. Would have loved more time but we are now able to slow down and do it again. Gibb River Road is good early in the season, can spend days or weeks on it. Kulumbaru Rd to Mitchell Falls is rough at times but magical. Burgers at Drysdale are as big as a beer can. Mitchell Falls is spectacular and relatively easy walk. Beautiful places on the way 🤓

Most tow vehicles are OVERWEIGHT also. If they have Towbars, Bullbars and Long Range fuel tanks they will be just below or just over legal weight, without even considering the driver and passengers.

I got the 5 sensor kit along with a signal booster for my van (the Ranger has built in TPMS). I first seen these on another video where a fellow fitted them to his $100k+ 300 Series Landcruiser. I was somewhat taken aback that TPMS isn't a standard fit for a car that costs north of that sort of dough. But I digress. I've yet to fit the system to the van, so, seeing these reviews helps allay any fears of buyer's remorse. The van has TPMS as supplied by the manufacturer using the BM Pro System. They work, but rely on you having an app called Oddessy bluetooth connected to a module INSIDE the van. Of course, as soon as you step outside of it the app disconnects and you can't see the TPMS any more. SO, I got the iCheck TPMS to replace it.

Hi there, currently very well. It is a few years old now, stays on the dash and always charges. It has a cable to plug in to super charge if needed. Advised by icheck not covered under warranty and that 18 months is acceptable and proceeded to offer me another monitor for $99! @drewpeacock2529 - Shame you had this issue. Have heard a few bad comments, though I’ve heard them about many varied products. Fortunately, we have not had any issues with ours, the battery went flat while it was garaged for a week, I just had to cable charge it then the solar keeps it up daily. Either way, TPMS is a valuable addition, I guess it’s just finding one that suits, and works 🤓

@@andrewberg2361 Did you actually watch the whole video? Did you acknowledge the part where we wanted to weigh it, to ensure we could make the balance and weight both legal, and safe? It's unfortunate if you took the wrong message from this, though we made this to show both our new van, AND the issues that most people face but are not educated on, which is weight and balance. I agree that poorly loaded combinations are predominant causes of crashes. I also believe that there should be more onus on sellers to notify buyers of the actual weights and do their best to ensure a combination is not hitting the road that is not safe. Hopefully that clarifies it a bit, we have reduced more weight since this video and achieved a greater balance - However, this was only done as we had Weigh Around Oz actually show us where we were with weights - something not many other people do. We are much safer now, after having the combination weighed, we will be doing it again to show the difference soon :)

Useless is a good term to use for them. Both the deflators and the pressure check system are very inaccurate. Not worth the money in my opinion. I don't even try to use the deflators anymore as you have to set each individual one to different pressures to get your tyres to the same pressure. I'm the same I only use the system for the low pressure alarm and take no notice of what pressure they tell me as I know they are 3-5 psi out.

A simpler upgrade would be to have 3.5 ton Simplicity fitted that will give you plenty of payload. I had ball weight problems with my new van and the way I overcame this was: remove the drawbar toolbox and replace with a Rhino plastic box from Bunnings and only put light things in it eg hoses and folding chairs etc (metal toolbox 54kg), drop from 2 x 90kg gas bottles to just one single (we found that one 90kg bottle did us for more than 10 weeks so no need for 2), get rid of grey water tank and move the forward fresh tank to the back to replace grey water tank (we found that grey water tanks are of limited use as most parks and free camp spots you dont need them), remove one spare wheel (the decreased ball weight from 1) and 2) means that you can compensate with reduced rear bar weight.

You do realise if you have a major accident you will be illegal. Involved with major crash investigation and water tanks are registered as full even if you don't have water in them. They weigh everything as though it contains full water tanks or tool box is full depending on the volume of box which is then converted to kgs. If jerry cans are on board they are looked at carrying 20 litres etc. You better rethink your van.
