1) The difficulty in my life made me achieve this. This is fine. 2) The previous accident made me change myself. This is technically correct. 3) He made me realise. He made me realise....what? e.g. He made me realise that I was doing a good job. 4) He made me bring the files. Perfect. 5) The trailer of the movie made me want to watch the movie in the theatre. (The phrase "made me watch" implies force or obligation, but "made me want to" indicates influence or inspiration.) 6) Her help made me happy. This looks fine. 7) The movie made me so excited that I watched it twice. (This clarifies the reason for watching it twice and corrects the repetition of "movie.") That is a good phrase for you to know... made me excited... OR... made me happy... made me smile

Are these sentences grammatically correct
@SingleStepEnglish
@SingleStepEnglish 5 күн бұрын
1. He got himself involved in that activity. This is correct. 2. The phrase "got himself involved" is appropriate for a voluntary action like participating in an activity. However, since it was an accident, this is involuntary, right? Change to: He was involved in the accident. It's better to use "was involved" because accidents are usually something that happens to someone, not something they choose to engage in. 3. I don't want to get myself involved in this argument. This looks fine. 4. I got myself involved in the argument. Also, looks fine.

My sir Could you please tell me For or To preposition is correct? Chatgpt says FOR Not To 1)Our team got selected to the final 2)Our team got selected for the final 3)Our team is selected to the final 4)Out team is selected for the final Chatgpt says like this which is correct Here's a breakdown of the sentences: 1. **"Our team got selected to the final"** - Incorrect. "To" is not typically used with "selected" in this context. 2. **"Our team got selected for the final"** - Correct. "For" is the right preposition here. 3. **"Our team is selected to the final"** - Incorrect. Again, "to" is not appropriate with "selected." 4. **"Our team is selected for the final"** - Correct. This is grammatically correct. In this context, "for" is the correct preposition to use with "selected."

My sir, Are these sentences grammatically correct 1)I'm on the way to work 2)I'm on my way to work Can I use in these 2 ways? 3)I shared this funeral message in my WhatsApp staus. 4)I shared this funeral message on my WhatsApp staus.
@SingleStepEnglish
@SingleStepEnglish 7 күн бұрын
2) I'm on my way to work. This is correct. This is because "on my way" is the common expression used to indicate that you are heading somewhere. I'm on the way to work. Technically correct but less common. It implies "on the" refers to a specific or known route, but "my way" is more commonly used. 3) I shared this funeral message in my WhatsApp status. This is correct, but less commonly used. You can use "in" if you think of the status as a feature within the app. 4) I shared this funeral message on my WhatsApp status. This is the more natural and common phrasing. "On" fits because people usually refer to "posting on" platforms or statuses.

@@SingleStepEnglish Well, in the past, zoology was pronounced "zoe-ology" and zoologist "zoe-ologist". Because these two words have been mispronounced so much, the wrong pronunciations have become acceptable. As a biology major, this was instilled in me by my zoology and biology professors. They'd be rolling in their graves knowing people are not pronouncing them as they are commonly pronounced today LOL

Is it correct sentence
@SingleStepEnglish
@SingleStepEnglish 9 күн бұрын
1)The Sri Lanka cricket team is selected to the final. was selected to the finals. Finals refers to the series of matches or a single match at the end of a tournament, usually used when referring to a significant, often multi-stage, concluding event (e.g., semi-finals and final). In sports, the word "finals" is commonly used even if it leads to a singular match, like the last match in a knockout competition. Final can refer to a single concluding match (e.g., "They reached the final"), but when discussing the process of being selected or advancing through stages, "finals" is more appropriate because it implies the broader concluding rounds of the competition. 2)The Sri Lanka cricket team is selected for the final. was selected to the finals. 3)The Sri Lankan cricket team got selected to the finals. That is fine. 4)The Sri Lankan cricket team got selected for the final. ...for the finals. 5)She crossed my limits. Is it correct sentence No, but perhaps you mean: "She crossed the line." "She went too far." These phrases are commonly used in English to convey that someone has behaved in a way that is unacceptable or has violated personal boundaries.

I wonder when AI will eventually replace most call center employees... I suspect within 20 years call center agents will be obsolete...

@@SingleStepEnglish Yes, you are right about less than 20 years for this to happen. A former Google CEO has said the next version of ChatGPT will be the ultimate chat bot/personal assistant. And so the majority of call center agent jobs will be automated I would suspect within five years. And when the holy grail of AI appears, artificial general intelligence, we will supposedly see 80% of all white and blue collar jobs replaced by machines. AGI will supposedly be able to do everything a human brain can do. This could appear within ten to twenty years, or not for another century. But I suspect it is fairly close.
