@ I do love zote for many reasons and uses… just not daily or as my main source of “laundry detergent “ It’s great as a stain remover & cleaning make up brushes… But the overuse of it will cause your clothes to get dingy after some time & cause build up in your washer. Very little goes a long way. It’s safer and more effective if you just use as a stain treatment and rinse it out, then throw in the wash with just water… don’t put anything else in the laundry … no extra soap/zote/detergent unless you rinse out completely. Other issues are- if you’re washing on hot, it’s fine .. but on cool or cold, it won’t be completely washed or rinsed out of your laundry. I work for a company that does tests on all these products… and they’ve received awards for ingredients for major brands. Tide and Persil is what I recommend. Laundry detergent is formulated in a lab to get the best results, for your clothes and your washer… it takes specific ingredients to balance out the minerals in water and to do it’s job. It’s complicated science stuff.. but I only use a drop of laundry detergent, you don’t need anymore & keep the loads small and sorted by color and like textures and materials. Do this test for yourself- boil zote in water, take 1/2 of that and boil in more water. The 2 batches will look identical bc there’s so much of it

This is great and all however I made this years ago and it ruined all my washing and my top loader. I couldn’t get the build up out of the clothing. I did laundry stripping and no one wants that. Please do t try this in a HE washing machine guys! I recently made a laundry powder with similar ingredients and it was a total waste of money. Same thing happens when you don’t have anything in the formula to lift, suspend and remove oils and odours. The sweat stains and smells will accumulate in your clothing leaving them full, dingy and you’ll cry 😢. Laundry liquid or soap needs emulsifiers, redisposition agents and that’s why these diy’s don’t work well. The washing machine will also have a sludgy disgusting bacteria slime inside your drum that you can’t see and over time the smell and the sludge will be in all your loads of laundry unless you strip the washing machines apart and remove it. Also just using a washing machine cleaner won’t fully work. Trust me, I’m trying to help you guys

@FrankGutowski-ls8jt2 ай бұрын
@@maxhotdog2926 The article is written by some clueless mommy blogger who doesn’t understand that soaps are different chemically than modern detergents which have been formulated in conformance with how HE washers operate. Not only that, the writer doesn’t understand that cleaning performance depends on time, temperature, agitation and concentration of cleaning agents. Therefore, we see a monthly cost comparison of $1 vs $10-$15. That is based on typical soap-based DIY concoctions being 1% solutions of soapy water vs commercial products being 15%-20% surfactants. So, yes, obviously, diluted soapy water is going to be cheaper.
