Okay so this is SO MUCH EASIER and prettier than the plan I had. I am so lucky I was browsing videos while at work and not with my art supplies. I forgot sponges existed in my planning process too so that will be so much easier.

Hey, in our country (Turkey) this is traditional method. By the way you should add lemon juice in order not to crystallize. Thank you for the video :)

I'm from north Florida. I spent a few months in north Alabama last summer building a block foundation for a friends new house in the middle of nowhere. First and only time I'd ever been there. I loved it there. I didn't want to leave when I was done, but I came back to Florida... Now I'm working on going back, but this time building a foundation, for my own home and homestead. I working towards this. I wish I knew a girl like this one, who would come with me...

I am looking at heading that way but coming from a much colder place. We had 8 inches of snow last night.

I love your log and light idea! And, I lovr hope the brick turned out. I've seen a few of these videos, but I think I'm going with your look. Did you end up keeping your fire place up, through the year, as a permanent piece to your home?

Great job sweetie! I've been straining my brain for a couple of months trying to figure out what I want to use to make mine. {I ACTUALLY would love to use materials to where I can have it as a year round "fake fireplace"}

Very creative and enjoyed video. I was trying to create actual Heat without needing a real chimney for venting. I have some ceramics and candles and tried different ways using cramic pots but i am thinking a chiminea may be better. If i could just put an ethanol log in the chimnea and create a fire that does not need venting .......but don't want a smoke problem in the house. Let me know any creative thoughts on this. Thanks so much.
