As a Brit, I can’t understand why our airlines didn’t utilise the PW2000? It’s clearly a phenomenal engine with a lot of advantages over the RB211, though both have their merits I guess. Is it another case of us British acting like snobs? 😂
@MqLei
@MqLei 14 күн бұрын
@@chrispoolemusic I’m quite sure they want to make maintenance easier by having less engine types across the fleet. British Airways use RB211 on 747 and 767 fleet, so there is no reason to use PW2000 on their 757s
@757Superfan
@757Superfan 6 күн бұрын
Fairly sure the RB211 has more advantage over the 757. I know for sure that engineers think the PW2000s are a nightmare to work with. Plus, the RB211s are far more powerful!

Quiet engines, but I notice the thing about the LEAP on both A321 and 737. It got quite a high pitch. Are they that ear piercing high or are they tolerable IRL?
@MqLei
@MqLei 26 күн бұрын
It's actually alright. Since it is so quiet, the high pitch does not make any difference. And such sound would just last for minutes during takeoff

This is why some people hate filming on the 787. The airline dim and locked the window. Sometimes even darker than this.

I'm surprised you didn't get copyrighted from the music. Many people uploaded a video of Thai Airways landing, and they usually get copyrighted claimed by them 😂 Including me.

I was also surprised! I guess it’s because the background noise is too loud in this video, so the music isn’t recognized by KZbin

Man, I've been dying to get on Thai A350. I've been watching it fly over my house literally when they first got their type and start flying domestic first for practice before they send them intentional. Both my mother and brother were lucky enough to get on one during that period so I'm the only one haven't gotten on one yet. 31-35A or K Seat would be my pick too, since I can still get that engine+wing view, good enough to hear the engine roar while still in Economy. You won't get a perfect engine view or clearest engine sound as if you would with Business class. But it's enough to satisfy my aviation needs 😂.
@MqLei
@MqLei Ай бұрын
@@Odontomango Haha is you like this engine view then be on the lookout for another video! If nothing goes wrong I’ll fly the same route on Thai A359 in this exact seat. But TG loves to do equipment swap before takeoff so I can’t say for sure yet
@Odontomango
@Odontomango Ай бұрын
@@MqLei Tell me about it!!!! Thai Airways LOVE changing Equipment, which is why I still haven't gotten to fly on A350. They do fly to where I live, 2 of them took off over my house last week. But it's very uncertain. If I book a flight for it, the website always just say A320. But in reality, some day it's A330, 787-8, A320 or if very lucky, A350. Yesterday was the A330, today is 787. Sigh... I'm trying to keep a record to see if there's some sort of pattern, but it just seems so random.
@MqLei
@MqLei Ай бұрын
@@Odontomango Equipment swap is not necessarily bad though, thanks to that I got to fly on their 777-300(non-ER) instead of a 777-200. One of the biggest surprises any airlines has given me
@Odontomango
@Odontomango Ай бұрын
@@MqLei Thai 777-300 (non ER) Was like my school bus for me lol. I used to travel a lot more as a kid/teenager. Back then, every time I got on a plane, it was usually the 777-300. Domestic or International doesn't matter. That Trent 800 sound is so nostalgic to me. I've ever gotten on the -300ER only once or twice in my life cuz Thai didn't have it a lot back then. Now all the -300 are retired though. Only -300ER now.

@@Odontomango I’m gonna say the same thing. IMO the noise level is almost the same during take off, but GEnx is quieter during cruise.

@@MqLei 2 for 2 now haha. Airlines like ANA and Thai Airways that have always used the Trent 1000 are also getting GEnx on their newer 787 instead. Apparently because of the maintenance issue.

@@Odontomango Trent 1000 is obviously not reliable😂 Air China’s 787 fleet is also heavily influenced by the unreliability of Trent 1000. I guess right now GE is one of the best engine manufacturer
