The more research I do on becoming an actuary the more I feel like it’s the perfect career for me! It took me far too many years to even discover this career option. I’ve been afraid to start college without finding my perfect career that I would not only excel in but that I would enjoy doing and now that I have found it I just hope I’m not too old and that I will be able to get a job as an actuary once I actually complete my degree and certifications…is 40 too old to start working on a degree in actuarial science?

How important is cum GPA? My major GPA is very good, but I didn't do so well my first couple years of college. I'm a theoretical math major. This is the only thing making me hesitant to becoming and actuary. I'm preparing for the P and FM exams, and it is actually pretty easy since I took Probability and Theory of Interest. I really like this kind of stuff.

Why are people so afraid to use the phrase “mental illness“ these days? The phrase “mental health“ means the opposite of “mental illness.“ Since it is apparently necessary to use some kind of euphemism to refer to mental illness, please find one that isn’t so confusing.
