Always annoyed me how Imperialism 2 did not had the option for a historical map for the americas. How much of the americas will we actually have? Only the north or the actual americas?

Either players give to get, meaning they choose to delay a military development to improve worker quality (for example), OR it's just a rich-get-richer system (which is realistic, but not great for gaming). I feel that some of this isn't scaled properly. In a game about world conquest, who cares about local beverage preferences in Village C?
@aoiti2 ай бұрын
I hope stay true to realism while still fun, if I can. we'll test and see if it is possible, where it isn't we'll try to change the mechanics.

You are completely right, however this is simply an estimation, to skip extensive calculations. Since the next object you will calculate doesn't have to be spherical, I decided to use an estimation.

I was wondering, is there a way to not deform the water around the object when it is not moving? Like when a player is stationary, the water is not deformed around him, but it creates the waves when moving

For those who are using recent versions of Unity (I'm using 2023.2.20f1) and the obstaclesTex does not affect the waves, try this: - Select your Orthographic camera - In the Rendering tab, check the option Custom Frame Settings - In the Rendering section, find Post-process - Check the left checkbox and uncheck the right checkbox This will prevent the camera to use post-processing and use "raw" image. It fixed for me. Hope this helps someone else :)

Looking fantastic! Keep up the great work! What do you suggest would be the best way for a newbie like myself to keep track of those resources? As in: should I just produce everything like crazy, or be more mindful of the resources? Speaking of which, I really enjoyed seeing that the resources can be region-based, instead of having everything on your own slice of the world 😄
@aoiti3 ай бұрын
That's such a good question. overworking your labor force to produce everything you can sounds like the best plan of action. However, there is one important thing I did not mentioned here. The taxation happens on non-allocated labor. in other words, you'll always have to leave some of the laborers free from government assigned jobs, so that they can be taxed and provide income. So as long as you start the game with full treasury, yes, produce everything you can.

I think I have found another way to do this without offseting the Y position. You could use the Z position, in ortographic view, Z position won't change the location. So offseting the Z position is a good idea. But you need to adjust the sort order in the setting to give some weight to Z position. So the default for Y sort is (0, 1, 0), but if you want to incorporate Z axis to solve sorting order, then it should be like (0, 1, 0.1). It means if it has the same Y position, the Z position will help to push the sorting order, more positive the Z, more farther it's to camera, and it should draw on bottom. 0.1 is a little bit arbitrary value, it should kept low. For example if there's two object, object A has position of (1, 1, 0), object B has position of (1, 1, -1), object B will be in front of A, because the engine will compare object A sorting value to be "0 * 1 + 1 * 1 + 0.1 * 0 = 1", and object B has sorting value of "0 * 1 + 1 * 1 + 0.1 * -1 = 0.9", because the sorting value of object B is less than A, object B will be in front. But imagine this case, object A has position of (1, 1, 0), and object B has position of (1, 2, -20), if we ignore Z value, it should be object A in front of object B, because object B is more north than object A. But if we calculate with Z position, object A sorting value will be 1, and object B sorting value will be "0 * 1 + 1 * 2 + 0.1 * -20 = 0". Sorting value of object B is less than A, then object A will be in front (which is wrong). So keep in mind, the 0.1, means Z value could go up until 10 before it introduces error in sorting.
