That filler is a polyester filler, epoxy resin does not smell. On the subject of that filler why do you waste so much money on buying that filler when you could get a larger tub of automotive filler for £25 and the only difference between them is that the wood filler has a dye in it, which if you are that worried about you could buy some dye online and still save money, I get that its the customer paying for it at the end of the day but still could be a way to make a little extra profit or lower the bill by a few £ depending on what you want.

@rossl254414 күн бұрын
@@CPCarpentry2022 yes sorry i never meant that to sound nasty buddy. Most of the U-pol fillers are good along buddy so U-pol Fantastic, U-pol smooth 7 and U-pol Easy 1 are what i would use the most. U-pol Easy 1 has larger solids in it so is best suited for filling deeper holes like you did in this video (its more like the wood filler) Smooth 7 and Fantastic have smaller solids in so are good for filling deep and small holes although to fill a deep hole you might have to fill twice or over fill a little. The U-pol filler i find lets you work it more before it starts to drag. I am unsure if you are aware or not but this type of filler and the wood filler is not waterproof buddy so have to be careful where you use it, if you need to use it outside you can mix it with fiberglass filler or fiberglass polyester resin and the polyester resins in that are waterproof which in turn makes the filler waterproof. You can also thin the filler with Cellulose Thinners to give more working time before it starts to drag and also helps the filler level out by itself

Hey, I’m not sure the reasoning on using the square clamps, doesn’t the backing keep it square, I mean even if you just screw it together without the back, because the ends of the ply is square when you fix it together, it’s going to be such a minimal amount out of square if any, then the backing will just pull it to 100% square anyhows, or are you using them just to more hold them together in the right position so they don’t move as you screw them together? On another note what was the reason the shelf/divider wasn’t fitted as you made the unit up? Sorry just curious as would have been ton easier doing it first as you could have screwed from the back into the shelf and divider. Nice vid btw, morning and night, toothbrush😂✨💚🙏
@CPCarpentry202221 күн бұрын
@@nascorob some good questions here So yes absolutely the ply back does hold it square but never 100% trust it because it can be out The clamps are like the 2nd pair of hands while I screw it together Then another great question the shelf and divider pice I just leave out so it’s less weight when I stand it up the units and I still screw or pin the backs, it only makes it very slightly harder to assemble for me doing this while the units standing up in place

Why do you not cut the height of your side panels both at the same time with one board on top of the other ?
@CPCarpentry202223 күн бұрын
good question for me I worry that if my track saw rolls a little then the bottom door would be 1mm bigger or if I'm out of square then they both get ruined, so I feel more comfortable just doing them 1 by 1, if I had the proper machine sled then id 100% cut as much as i could using a machine that's zeroed in
