hiiiii im one of the people who assembled the latest version (the original release not the extended version), quality control was absolutely a thing we thought of but given the absolute size of the roster (which was expected given its a game starring the best the community has to offer, given yknow, crusade modding community, cmc), it's virtually impossible to make sure everything is pristine and good, especially with the amount of people involved in its creation

According to a number of the commenters, look on in wonder because they're tohou characters. I didn't use final smashes when I played the regular Smah Bros. and this stuff is just-- I don't even know.

unfortunately looking from the outside in leads you to assume things like those, but doing even the slightest bit of research about how permissions and credits were handled across the entire cast where both were even relevant to be given would show you there's nothing that goes uncredited (hell if you let the initial credits screen of the game run it clocks in at like 3 to 4 minutes of pure people named) people at the rivals community are well aware of cmc existing and have mostly positive thoughts about it beyond the artstyles and spritestyles clashing absolutely everywhere (because maintaining a consistent artstyle wasnt really a goal of the modpack to begin with, never was xd), sai is well aware of chara in cmc+ using his sprites and henrrygg (the guy who ported the char) personally went to him to ask him for perms, as it turns out sai's very generous and liberal regarding usage of his own content in other places

Vergil and Kakashi, especially Kakashi. Imagine with this game's Final Smash mechanic, you're up against Kakashi and you both have 2 stocks. You're both over 100, and you get knocked out. That's fine, you had an advantage, you can just knock Kakashi off and it'll be even in your favor again, but then Kakashi presses one button and instantly wins the whole game with no effort. Seriously, with this biased roster (LOOK AT THE AMOUNT OF DIGIMON AND SONIC REPS), questionable character additions and how broken the game looks to play, it's no wonder I don't want to play it.

Call me ignorant, but I kinda think it's Smash Mugen, but the lack of main character reps in some series just makes me more angry about this. They can't even put in Kris or Artoria? Damn, these dogs are uncultured as fuck all.

​@@boomymanlyman9876 who gets into the game doesn't depend on who the devs feel like adding, it depends on for who they can find enough sprites to rip that they can make a full character with them, a huge amount of the cast are sprite rips from existing games, or mugen or rivals custom characters, and it's the reason why there's a bunch of sonic ocs, they're all simple sprite edits that can pad out the roster with little work. If you want smash mugen you should go to the rivals of aether workshop instead, it has more and higher-quality characters

@@boomymanlyman9876 im pretty sure saber was made for the game but she wasn't added because it was one of the mod creator's first characters and it didnt come up to par in terms of general quality but yea we didn't really prioritize repping main chars of franchises that were featured in the game (speaking personally anyway, the other devs have similar thoughts, but there's many mods of people who simply wanted their stuff featured), instead focusing on the characters we actually cared for in order to see finished, since as it turns out, making a mod of a character you don't really have an attachment to is very very prone to being dread inducing if you dont have the motivation to finish the project
