This is a classic machine my mum had when I was a kid! For some reason the clicking sound it makes at the start when first turned on has always stuck in my brain.

This washing machine uses a universal brushed motor and not a digitally controlled brushless inverter motor, which makes sense all the same

It’s a bit of a shame that there’s no bleach compartment.

This washing machine must be excellent even if it is more than a decade or two old, we're not going to lie

Thank you for the video! I have always wondered why commercial washer programme times are always much shorter than domestic machines? What factors make them wash as well in that shorter time? Thx 😄
@davidl125322 күн бұрын
Why would they continue making Keymatics after they had introduced machines such as the Matchbox 3236 and the electronic models? Also the model numbers confuse me as the newer models seem to go backwards, for example the 3223 is newer than the 3224 unless I've got that totally wrong. Also, did the pulsator models have lifters in the drum?
@TheLaundryCentre22 күн бұрын
You’re right the model system is very weird. I assume they ran them with the timer models so there was a cheaper option and a more premium option and the idea was with the Keymatics meant they could introduce new keyplates and programmes for new fabrics etc as time went on.

I use the Mix cycle quite frequency on the Serie 8 at my work, Mix with SpeedPerfect is 45 minutes which makes it really good daily wash program.

This is a nice machine, a lot more classic than the Serie 8 I use at my work.

Had this machine in 2002 wgen i had my flat. Noisiest machine ever! Used to think it was going to take off. The kitchen used to shake when it spun! A conversation in the kitchen was out the question 😂 only lasted 4 years before it died.

They’re not very refined at all, incredibly whiney and loud. Surprised this one has lasted

@@TheLaundryCentre must've been lucky then! Never had another whirlpool one since. Bosch for me, last one lasted 17 years. Currently on a new one also Bosch.

@@TheLaundryCentre yes. Even as it filled, the thrummy pumpy noise was loud! And it gobbled bra wires like like you wouldn't believe.

I LOVE that spin drain and I don't understand why they didn't keep it in modern machines; I think it distributes the load more effectively thanks to the action of water

Hi By chossibg this program does the machine let water into the drum ?
@christopherdickson2996Ай бұрын
These old machines are very interesting - especially considering that the spin speeds are quite slow in comparison to more modern machines (about 400-500rpm on this machine) but it certainly rinses a lot better than modern machines (more of them and fills up with more water) which is what I love about these old vintage machines!

This looks like a fairly small machine, 5.5 kg - so the smallest commercial model Electrolux makes, afaik.

Why do they spin like that before the wash starts?
@christopherdickson2996Ай бұрын
This reminds me of the very first machine I saw in use (when I was a young child of about 3-4 years) back in the mid-late 1980's - the one we had was probably an older version of maybe this or a very similar machine which my mother bought new in the late 1970's but the functionality is almost (98%) the same as this one but the one we had had an 800rpm spin instead of 1000rpm on this one. Nice machine!
