Great tutorial. Did you notice any difference in wind noise with the Barkbuster wind deflectors vs factory? Have you considered changing mirrors to the Doubletakes. Seems like they go hand in hand with the hand guard protection.
@Hogdriver8819 күн бұрын
Thanks. No, no difference in wind noise from these - GSA is already pretty noisy as it is. Haven’t really thought of doing the mirrors yet. I have a friend who did, and he likes the Doubletakes. I don’t do any BDRs or hardcore off road - only did the hand guards to protect the levers in case of a tip over because the OEM are plastic and zero protection. Thanks for watching!

if i wanted to ride without the tour pak with a single seat, should I change the wires or they fit ok just under the rider's seat ?
@Hogdriver8825 күн бұрын
When I put them under the seat, they fit under the rider's seat on top of the battery area, so I would say you'd be ok with a solo saddle.

No, I use a Purple Panda lav mic inside the helmet for the audio. I bought the Cardo to be able to use CarPlay on the Goldwing, and for phone and music. Would be great if it paired to the GoPro 8 for audio.

I have a 2017 Road Glide Ultra. It would be nice if the original bracket would receive the quick detach brackets, where you would not have to purchase all the components to be able to quick detach the tour pack.
@Hogdriver883 ай бұрын
It’s expensive, but that’s HD. I would not use an aftermarket kit for this though. You could just unbolt the original frame and tour pak and run without it, but that’s not a quick operation and you would lose (and have to add) rear turn signals unless you already have the filler or bag lights. Also, you wouldn’t be able to add a passenger back rest without the docking kit. Thanks for watching 👍

WOULD THESE PARTS FIT A 2012 FLTRU? Parts (kits) I've been looking at HD say no ,wont fit,have no Idea what would have changed since then .I need this ,lots of trouble getting on and off over that box now adays ,I bought it new and cant see buying something else.
@Hogdriver883 ай бұрын
I would say that they would not fit the 2012 (I had a 2013 FLTRU). The style changed a bit with the Project Rushmore bikes in 2014 - the tour pak is different and the frame may be as well. Docking kit may or may not be the same. Best bet is to go to your local dealer parts dept and get a parts list from them. Bike looks and rides great without the tour pak on - go for it!

You may have missed two other roads that are as good or better than the ones shown here. I live about an hour south of Suches and travel those roads and more most every weekend. If you had continued straight on Ga 60 (instead of turning left on Wolf Pen Gap, Ga 180 - at 7:00 minutes) that section of 60 between Suches and The Stone Pile (Trahlyta's grave) on US 19, THAT would have been some curves, MUCH tighter than 60 north of Suches you came in on. Then when you turned right on US 19 129 to go up and over Blood Mtn, instead turned left and followed 180 to the Richard B. Russell Scenic Hiway that takes you almost to Helen and is a classic that never seems to end. But, you DID get to ride Blood so that's good.
@Hogdriver884 ай бұрын
Man you're lucky to live near such good riding! I followed your suggestions on my Freeman Map of the area and google maps - will have to make note of this for next time. We hit so much in 2 days that it's tough to remember what was what. Pretty sure after Helen is when we hit Wayah Rd too. Thanks for watching and for the detailed response!

I rode thru there on Sunday 9-39-24, a day and a half after Helene, then up to Bell Mountain in Hiawassee, GA. I saw maybe two trees down, none on the roads. I then rode US 76 east to Clayton, GA, where i began to see some very minor swollen creeks and a few limbs down, NO flooding, the down 985 back to Atl. North GA dodged a bullet.
