Thank you. Currently I am writing a fiction story (a novel). The person in my novel is travelling to Switzerland, and using train from Geneva to Zurich and Winterthur. This video helps me a lot. I visit Switzerland only once, back on 2001 when having business trip to Vevey from Geneva. Greetings from Indonesia.
@Alpenwild18 күн бұрын
Good luck with your novel, and glad we could help. There are several direct trains daily from Geneva and Geneva Airport to Winterthur (a major city east of Zurich), although most trains would connect in Zurich's main station. Swiss trains are amazing.

Where can i buy a hat like Andreas,Swiss cheese is delicious
@Alpenwild27 күн бұрын
I've never seen a hat like his other than in Switzerland. Not sold in the kind of stores most of us shop at. Start at one of the Swiss farm stores like Landi.

Very informative. How can I tell which platform are for golden express or glacier express train?
@AlpenwildАй бұрын
Throughout the station and on each platform, you'll see signs indicating which trains depart on which platforms. Also, be sure to load the SBB app on your phone before your travels. That will show departure platforms, and connections.

Hey there! The popular mountain restaurant Kirk mentions is the Alphitta. It's just across from and below the Riffelalp Resort.

is it expensive there?
@Alpenwild3 ай бұрын
Liechtenstein is on the Swiss Franc and prices are about the same as in Switzerland, which is to say Expensive. And yet Austria, just down the street from Liechtenstein is considerably less expensive.

It's unbelievable what things the humanity invents to make money while endangering other humans. This is a disaster waiting to happen, if the cable (or whatever is keeping it running) some day snaps...
@Alpenwild4 ай бұрын
Hello! You'll be pleased to know that funiculars are among the safest forms of travel, especially in Switzerland where back-up systems and cables are checked regularly and all cables are replaced every 2 years. Additionally, Stoos is a car-free village, so the funicular is the only way to access the village. The funicular is not a money-making scheme, but sustainable public transportation.

Lovely. I wish you could do a video of what to do in the evening. My flight arrives at 20:00 and most of the shops will be closed apparently. Also the airport trains stop running at midnight so I wonder what is there to enjoy on a summer evening for a few hours???
@Alpenwild5 ай бұрын
Thanks Kevin--That's a great idea. The business center of Zurich gets kind of quiet in the evening. But we could point out areas that have more to offer. We do most of these location videos in the summer, and would love to add that to our production schedule.

Does Trekking involve activities like rappelling, river crossing, rock climbing?
@Alpenwild6 ай бұрын
Generally, not. Those kinds of activities would push trekkers more into the climbing and adventure sports area. They would also require protection, such as ropes, helmets, life vests, etc.

I saw that there are exposed areas that require cables. I have a fear of heights. Can you advise?
@Alpenwild6 ай бұрын
In the video you see a hanging bridge over the Soca River, but the trails in the Julian Alps, while rugged, are safe and without exposure that would cause you to be afraid or require protection. No cables, ladders, or chains that I can recall.

@Alpenwild7 ай бұрын
HIking from La Flégère down to Planpraz is a popular hike, but right now the trail is still snowbound.. You'd probably have your best chance of doing that in June.
