Honestly I do feel bad for him, you could say this is one of the many things that costed him the championship. I’m glad Verstappen won in the end but hearing Lewis this defeated does make you feel for him.

It was a bad start for sure but then even in the 2nd phase he wasn't particularly aggressive. Almost like he knew a mess in tight turn 1 was a possibility in those conditions.
