Hey Daniel! Big fan of your work :-) We had spoke a while back about the BMMCC and you had said you thought the S1H was the best bang/buck in them budget cine world? Do you still think that’s the case? Also, you said you damaged the sensor of your BMMCC in the cold? Do you happen to remember in what way you damaged! Thanks so much buddy!
@DanielTroyer
@DanielTroyer 2 ай бұрын
Hey appreciate it! Yes, I think I still agree the S1h is the most powerful camera you can get for the money in terms of all its features + picture quality. I just paired it with the Red monstro and dragon on a feature end of last year and it held up perfectly with the other cameras. There were some shots we just couldn't have captured without it! I think it's still so underrated. The BMMCC sensor was being used in -15 degree weather and developed a terrible fixed pattern noise even in properly exposed conditions. It had a nasty color shift as well. Bummer. Lost an Ursa sensor in cold weather once as well.

Hmmm, I’m wondering if the same thing happened to us then? We also had 2 small tiny white dots appear, but I’m in the process of reinstalling our Rawlite filter after cleaning the sensor to see if it was just dust Thanks so much for getting back to me so quickly btw! How do you feel about the FP or BMCC6K?
@DanielTroyer
@DanielTroyer 2 ай бұрын
@@christopherduran9926sounds like hot pixels. Could be an issue Black Magic has always seemed to have sensor issues they can’t get rid of. I still haven’t seen footage from the FP that could convince me to get one. Also, no IBIS so it’s going to be harder to use as a small platform. The Cinema 6k has a nice image, definitely needs softening.

It’s a combination of many things I’ve been experimenting with for a year or so now. But there is no “grain” layered on the footage or any luts used.

Most of the vintage xenon lens have some level of haze and or fungus inside of the lens that would account for the diffusion. I have a arriflex schneider 28mm that has similar characteristics.

@@Calgothits At 0:10 There's clearly bloom on the car headlights, wouldn't attribute that to lens characteristics. I have many vintage lenses, they are soft and have all kinds of diffusion but not like this. This definitely feels like a filtration or a digital bloom filter. Hence my question.I might be totally wrong. If that's really the lens then I'm in love.
