That mom in story 5 sounds very controlling! A lot of times controlling people will randomly start some issue to keep people off guard (walking on eggshells) and control the situation by determining how long the argument goes on and what you argue about. With the mom, there wasn't any reason to argue over lunch (she got an answer the first time she asked), she just made it into an issue.

Because of the crash of 2008, we couldn't help with college like we had planned to do for our sons. Our youngest paid for his almost entirely by himself with support from us.
