this coddling is deliberate imo. there is far too much of it not to be a coincidence. it is pressure that is going to be used to force the public into giving up 'rights' just so criminals can, or probably still not as they are useful tools of those wanting complete control, be prosecuted and punished. out of control populations invite top down control. those who WANT control will encourage out of control behaviour, refuse to punish it, until law abiding citizens will give up 'rights' to be protected. sad thing is, they won't be. they will never control the criminal element and merely use it as an excuse to impose more rules, regulations, controls. think about it. it is logical outcome to this coddling

I drove a school bus for 5 years. it ultimately cemented my childfree decision. one of the other drivers this particular year was doing a route that ended at an elementary school her own daughter attended. might have been a jr high, dont' recall precisely. her daughter had scoliosis, not a severe case but bad enough it affected her posture, gait. From the point where she dropped the kids off she could see just inside the open doors of the school (70's..).. for ventilation. one of the teachers was parading her daughter up and down, badk and forth loudly criticizing how she was walking and you don't want to blah blah blah.. the kids in her bus paused as she put it in reverse (standard parking procedure for manual shift), shut the bus off, pocketed the key, all in a matter of seconds. stormed into the school and cold-cocked that teacher. it was a marvel she didn't get into trouble but there were too many witnesses...

I remember one time going to costco. don't recall teh day but the 'flat bed' carts were in short supply. the only one I saw available was in the entryway, off down a little side storage area. I walked towards it (I don't stand in one place well, I can walk more or less ok but if I have to stand..it's an old injury and my back spasms if I don't move). and I use the cart to sit on when I leave on line. I was half way to the cart and some guy yells something to the effect 'hey, where are you going?'.. normally I would have turned around.. most of the stupid conditioning my egg donor beat into me ..but something told me not to turn around.. for once I listened to that inner voice and just continued on and grabbed the flatbed. turning around.. didn't see anything other than the stream of shoppers going in and out. I always wonder about that but I'm damned sure it was going to be some shriveled little he*d trying to create an incident.

There are people who think it's funny to sic their dog on a horse being ridden past. They think it's even funnier if the rider is throw, completely overlooking the potential for serious injury. I grew up around horses, and rode most of my younger life. One neighbor that I rode past had a rather nasty dog and many nasty children. They would gleefully sic the dog on my horse. They ignored me when I warned them that the horse did not like dogs and had been known to kill coyotes. They continued to sic their dog on my horse. I usually handled it by galloping away so the dog was left in the dust. But the day came when my horse was in a bad mood generally, and had apparently just had enough of the dog. This time, when the dog tried to attack, my horse got hold of him. He literally lifted the dog off the ground in his teeth. And he shook that dog like a terrier shakes a rat, then threw him up into the air and let him hit the ground -- hard. Then grabbed him again, gave him another hard shake, and threw him into a drainage ditch. Nothing I could do stopped him; I was maybe 12, riding bareback, and only using a halter to direct my horse, not a bridle with a bit. The nasty kids set up a howl, but even their own parents had no sympathy for them. I saw the dog a few days later, still limping, and he tucked in his tail and gimped away at top speed. He and the nasty kids left my horse severely alone ever after.
