I wish you both a very happy Christmas and good New Year! Thanks for your excellent videos and I hope they will continue to be produced for those of us who aren’t able to visit the railways themselves. Your videos fill a gap for us! Best wishes to you both from Rob in Bournemouth.

Lucky people! It's a bit too noisy I guess but either innumerous opportunities for video (and photo) shooting. 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley close to your garden! :))

We get many steam trips passed the garden, I believe S/N/ Gresley is due passed again this Friday. We both love the trains , Rosie has even been spotting them since the start of Covid. The little bit of noise we get doesn't bother us, in fact when they don't run is when we notice it. Best wishes Chris

Interesting video! I don't recall hearing about this one before and I couldn't find anything about it on line but after a bit of searching on Google Earth I found it. Do they have public running days?

When you get this kind of predicament, I think I'd rather see a backwards view from the rear of the train, rather than this big fat blob constantly occupying - I've measured - one third of the view.!!!!!!! No thumbs up this time
@wooltmanАй бұрын
Sorry you feel the video not worthy of a thumbs up. I have just watched this video again, I didn't find our drivers body to be a fat blob, reasonably slim by todays standards. As many miniature railways will tell you you must sit facing (filming) forward, also I sat in the second seat back with Rosie keeping to the side as best she could, so that we got a better view forward without the driver blocking the view of the ride. It can be a problem while filming. Regards Chris

I was a 16 yo Boy Entrant in 1960. The main display hall looks like where we did our mechanical training. There were 4 or 5 old planes in there as well. Sometimes as a prank one or more would be pushed out onto the parade square in the dead of night. Life as a boy entrant was pretty tough for the 18 month course and then for me it was on to Swinderby. Cosford was so cold in the winter.

It is just as I remember it with good old Jack driving the loco as usual unfortunately the liners are now only a mory as they rotted seY many years ago the blue loco Blanch of Lancaster has been sold to a new owner down south she used to be the loco at Skegness sea front railway that ran through the seafront park behind clock tower it moved about 1960 when the 10.5 inch line closed the green loco c Original called at stapleford John of Gaunt is now called John Gretton after the original enthusiast that set the railway at stapleford park up i knew him well god rest his soul his son the current lord Gretton and his wife Lady Gretton still runn the railway for all to see several times a year to raise funds for local charities long may they do so as it takes a lot. Of effort and money in these difficult times I know the whole family good luck to them Lady Gretton has done well to keep 5he whole railway together for all to see and enjoy occasionally the blue engine returns for a visit my favourite of the fleet I remember sitting with my grandpa on the railway at skeggy when she ran there

We don't live that far from This railway and have been a big fan of it for many years. Jenny Gretton is President of our Engineering Society so know her well. Blanch of Lancaster is at the Trago Mills railway under repair and has been for many years, it would be nice to see it return. The young lady featured in this film is now my wife of 52 years and is still just as keen on steam engines, she drives them as often as she can. Best wishes Chris.
