great job. I also like that you didnt flare the front fenders. jealous. i just called Renegade and they are 22 car out from doing anything

Beautiful car, but they would have to lower that rollback a little. For right now, you can't even put your targa top back on. Or is this the true cost of doing this conversion?

Excuse me,..." roll bar". Stupid spell correct.
@patmagic33012 жыл бұрын
The top fit over the bar without issue. I did this nearly 8 years ago. The cost was $15,000 or there about, but I had planned to daily drive it. I bought a Lotus Elise after that car, neither of those cars created the feeling I had with my 1964 GTO convertible I restored when I was in high school. It was the time not the car I missed. As with all exotics, it’s a chore keeping them from being destroyed by other people. I’m not sure Renegade Hybrids is even in business anymore. Good luck 👍

Wow very nice swap! Did the car sell? If so, do you know where it is? One very similar for sale in Idaho now (2021)

I so want one! Rarely does a Renegade hybrid surface on the used car market, when they do they're not cheap!

Awesome video, I’ve been contemplating installing a fuel pump in the front as well, but now I’m definitely going to do it, keep up the great work! 👍🏼

Not a bad looking 914. Time to change those door sills from SVX to LS haha
@batteryplum5 жыл бұрын
If you still own this 914, do you have any interest in selling it? I’m in the market for a 914 with an updated power train, but would like to avoid having one built from scratch. Thanks, - Ben Fox

Ben Fox there’s always one out there to buy. I just saw a decent looking one on thesamba

I would rather have a tuned EG33 with turbo. 350HP and 200 lbs lighter. No way that 901 can handle that motor. Mendeola trans would be a better choice

Ed Hoffman - I would rather have a V12 from a Ferrari F1 - but you know cost. Chevy LS does the trick at a fraction of the price.
@KonaChuck225 жыл бұрын
@Ed Hoffman The EG33 is 200 pounds lighter? Where did you find that number? What I find is a weight difference somewhere between 30 and 100 pounds.

The 914 was actually a brilliant design, that if it had initially more 4cyl. power, say 100 hp, would have been more embraced in the Porsche community.
@valeriepickens25332 жыл бұрын
Actually,...the 914 had way more then a hundred extra horsepower, when it started! It was called, the " 914-6" at that time, and came with a 911 motor and tyranny. It was discontinued, because it was better in the corners then the 911, and Porsche rightfully thought that it would kill the sales of the 911, because the 911 cost way more to build then the 914. What would an all original Porsche 914-6 bring today? Unless you're a multimillionaire, you're not suppose to know. The last one went for 2.5 mill.

how much did you invest in project. awesome by the way

what did it costs for the whole project? thanks

Don't know if I'd go with the LS, it sounds like a pickup or muscle car. Doesn't fit the little nimble Porsche at all. I think if I were to get one I'd go with a 1 uz-fe or some other smooth purring motor. The LS sounds like hammers when it should be a scalpel.

An exhaust change is all it takes.

The 4 cylinder never sounded smooth . it was loud as well.
@KonaChuck225 жыл бұрын
The stock 4 cylinder always had that crappy cheap air cooled VW sound. Look up Ridds sbc v8 914 Porsche on youtube. It has more of high revving Formula 1 engine sound.

Great couple of video's Pat. The car looks great and Renegades look to have done a fine job of the conversion. Congratulations to all concerned. Mike
