Oh !!! Remember when you told me yo stay in the throttle and she'd straighten out ? So I did and watched you clear the spectators off the beach as that C Byers craft kept sliding towards the bank ? You said why didn't you get out of the throttle? O said "" CSUSE YOU YOLD ME IT WOULD EVENTUALLY STRAIGHT OUT ! And yes I did finally get out out of it 😅. We had good times back then. So many memories. Heading to Kingston and at 4 in the morning we all stopped for fuel and you got out of the old NEILOAK motor home Rsy built on ambulance chassis and first thing you yelled was ---------- YAAAAAAAAA HOOOOOO, MOUNTAIN DEW !!!

I raced with whithums, Ringer, Bob Vanover and Eric. Green hornets Lyle, Ray and helped Mason. Small world. 74 M. C D & E mod. Was that Lyle out front. Can't remember his #. Believe Ray's was 56 M. With the old Charelstons. Most beautiful hydro ever made Then the Jones hydro out of Washington. Cab overs inline 6 alki's

Say hi to everyone up there. Ran 250 hydro down here and still have my outfit plus I built a d and e mod clone. Have an Alki C with turner .010 over pistons. Headland rings. D reeds, 30 H flywheel and a pristine C two porter stud. Block from RC Howie down here. Can't get anyone with a hone to hone it .010. Oh and a true old school Chris er filler block !. These three motors are keepers. Also picked up a like brand new merc 1000 inline 6 and a 15 in. mid. Chrisner 2 into 1 pipes. No filler though. Say these are next to impossible to find. Tore it down to inspect and the cross hatch was still in the cylinders

when I was a kid, I spent many a summer on those banks watching this stuff. I recall the few years they ran the unlimited hydroplanes on that lil ole lake. Not sure what it's called now but we knew it as Eastwood.

That thing is screaming! What kind of hull is it connected too. And how modded is this 30h outside of filler blocks and pipes(which btw sound crisp and healthy with the smaller cones).? I’m curious because I’ll be acquiring a 30h in the near future and the stock motors can really look great and move along at a decent clip, the “wake the dead” option makes my hair stand on end.

Ah ha! I was on Hydroracer and saw a beautiful set of 30h stacks for sale. Just happened to click on this video to remind me of how sweet they can sound, and Sobel seems to be the common on both items!😉
