Csodaszép a műhely! Üdvözletem Erdélyből!

Köszönöm a hozzászólásodat!

Gud velsigne deg bror🙏 Arne. Norge

In 1977 my parents bought an old farm that was over 100 years old in Sullivan County, NY. In the barn we found several of this type of ladder. Although this ladder in the video is way more refined, our ladders were the same up to the point of where they were split in half and all the rungs were dowels. All hand hewn with much of the bark still attached. These ladders were very strong and light.
@AlainHospenthalКүн бұрын
Hi Paul, thank you for your message and for sharing your story. These ladders where possibly fabricated by Swiss settlers😃? Are you still a farmer? Thank you for watching the video and very best wishes to you and your loved ones.
@paulbreslin2263Күн бұрын
@ Hello Alain , No , I am no longer in NY. Retired to Florida ! Yes I believe some of the settlers were in fact Swiss , Dutch , German. Everything was made with hand tools. Even the beams in our house were hand hewn trees. You could see the tool marks on the beams. They just flattened one side of the log to meet the upstairs floor. Some still have bark on them. They are still holding the house up. It’s really incredible to see how they built everything with what they had and some basic hand tools using the trees that they cleared from the land. Seeing these ladders being built brought back great memories. What beautiful work. We keep this knowledge alive. Thank you for posting.
