Agreed. Compared to Princess the entertainment at night onboard was abysmal. There are no large shows which is disappointing. There were not even many decent film in the theatre. There could have been.

After having just spent a short break on the P&O Adventure it is in serious need of help, the food in the pantry is less than acceptable bordering on pretty bad, and the ship itself needs a lot of attention 🤷‍♀️

A major issue with ship internet is bandwidth. 4000 devices all connected and checking facebook and other app actions. Its like plumbing. If everyone turns their tap on there is low water flow.

I loved it but was ripped off with a few purchases. They said was a certain price but charged extra and claimed as US dollar.

@@cruiseyseadaysthat’s what I thought more so we did brisbane to Airlie beach. I bought a cologne for $49.95 when went to pay the lady said it’s 59.95, I questioned it and she said it’s US dollars?. I was like what?. It also happened with cheese board player purchase as well.

Last December I did a South Pacific tour on this ship and it was quite nice. My only complaints about the food were relatively trivial: No matter which restaurant you choose, DON'T BOTHER ordering ANYTHING with LOBSTER on the menu. The portion of actual lobster in these dishes are so small, you'll need a magnifying glass to identify it. And yes, you pay a premium for the privilege. And in the Pastry Shop (near the Horizon Court), none of the pastries have the soft, flaky and slightly crispy layered crust you'd expect with a quality product. They are tasty, but have poor texture. But plenty of choices and we had some really nice meals. And the cherries on Christmas Day was a really pleasant and tasty surprise. Doing another cruise on the same ship, Royal Princess, around New Zealand this December.

The food on the Splendor is actually quite nice, but i strongly encourage anyone sailing on her to find the places that you like, The Deli in the serenity area makes wonderful toasted sandwiches, and guys burgers is a great taste spot, just a shame they close so early, the pizza place ... well, lets be honest, they are not the greatest Pizza's on the ocean, however, as one of the last food places to close, they do hit the spot if you have been up late drinking or partying with others on the ship, pro tip for the Pizza Place, always, use those toppings they have down the far right of the ordering area, really does make a difference, and trust me, the actual paid pizzas, the chicken tika and the korean stake, yes $9 but they are well worth it ! - liked & subscribed, recently threw a nice little short splendor video on my channel, check it out !

@@cruiseyseadays Newcastle is the largest coal port in the world. Newcastle is also the second largest city in NSW. Meaning for years to come there will be more and more growth, by adding a proper functioning cruise terminal in Newcastle now it will allow for the region to further develop. Newcastle is also the gateway to the amazing hunter valley region including wineries, specular beautiful beaches and many others just to name a few.
@cruiseyseadays
@cruiseyseadays 3 ай бұрын
Your argument could also be used for Port kembla, which is located in Wollongong. It's the 3rd biggest city and would also have the growth for years as would Newcastle. It also allows for access to the southern highlands and the south Coast regions.

Charter a private yacht. I've done it for clients and they determine where, when and usually how-- unless weather or other conditions supersede-- you can "explore" areas on your journey.. As for costs being higher for Cruise Line provided versus "others" -- you're throwing the dice and relying on comments "given" on their sites which might not even be from real people but from a machine. Personally and professionally I would not make plans away from those of the Cruise Line's at that destination or any other with no town or city nearby in case of emergency. Your on site "guide" may be able to give the same presentation in English but not be able to understand or get immediate help for someone with a medical or other need. As was said by Dorothy in the Wiz, "We're not in Kansas any more!" applies to travel to unique areas that sound great except when they're not.

100% with the cruise line, cruise ships have like what 2000 passengers and 1000 crew? if 8 people are not back on time, the remaining 2992 people on board should not be disadvantaged because of it. They're all like "why aren't the cruise line thinking of us", my question to them is, "why aren't you thinking of the all the other people on board"
@johnneblett7185

I am with the cruise line on this one. Can you imagine the chaos if their policy were any different? I believe that it’s the rigidity of the policy that inspires fear in its passengers and motivates everybody to get back on time.
